If Garner even thinking about brining in Miceli in the 9th or 10th (if that happens) before Lidge, I will hunt him down and bad things will happen.

We're on the road... you do realize we need a save, right? although, I'd consider it if it gets to Pujols here.

The difference in this series may well lie in the bottom 3rd of the batting order for both teams. The Cardinals have gotten WAY more production out of their bottom 3 hitters than the Astros. Ausmus & Vizcaino have given them nothing in this series.

No they haven't... I'll get the numbers for you shortly... but before today, the Cards 6-8 was the biggest reason why they weren't scoring any runs.

If you're factoring in today, however, then you may have a point... but for the series, both sides have been horrible (with the Cards being a tad worse).

Exactly. Pujols is the key. Once you get past Rolen and Edmonds not quite as scary.

No! Save Lidge for tomorrow if they don't tie it up.

Everett has so much more range defensively than Vizcaino, it's not even funny. His arm is better, too.

Got out of the 8th! Great job by Wheeler this whole series.

Garner has his choice of Bruntlett, Ensberg, Lane, & Clutch City's Finest Palmeiro to hit for Ausmus in the 8-spot & also the pitcher in the 9-spot. Biggio in the hole. EDIT: Forgot Chavez also...

One person has to get on out of those 3 and then Mr. October takes the stage. Things could not possibly be set up much nicer after the way this game started with Munro struggling. Let's take our chances in the 9th!!!

PS: Wow, what a great job by the bullpen...

Everett is by far the better defender. And at this point, I'd argue he's the better hitter. Even though he's had one at bat and grounded out, anything is better than watching Viz pop out. ugh!
