Well.... I guess its time for our bullpen to prove their worth (outside of Lidge and Wheeler) ....otherwise..its on to tomorrow.
geez, a ball hit 20 feet to the left of 2nd and viz is no where to be found? someone explain to me why we don't play more up the middle? we are never within a mile of those types of hits and other teams are often there to snag them from us. i know he hit it hard but it gets a little ridiculous to watch it over and over. it isn't like being over to the side helps given viz's terrible throw on the rolen hit. a good ss makes that play. just like a decent lf holds pujols on and only one run scores. we're screwed in this game unless the bullpen pitches the game of it's life.
For the record, if the Astros get out of this inning with no more damage done... its a game that is VERY winnable. St. Louis is still using infield-singles and poor defenseto their advantage... while we are scalding the ball everytime we make contact. Everybody needs to calm down a little... (until one of the Chad's gives up a HR on the first pitch...)
I don't know what we could have expected from Munro today. I think pitching him today was telling the Cardinals we plan on outslugging you and if not, see you for Game 7. I must admit though - Munro was even worse than I thought.
You mean would happen right? I've definitely learned not to expect anything from Munro, I would have been happy if he had just gotten us through the lineup once with no runs. Pugs
Munro is horrible, his balls were all right down gasoline alley. Even the crappy hitters are tatooing the ball. Well, it is bullpen redemption time. The only redeeming thing is that we are pasting Morris too, we should be able to score more runs today. Got to get ahead of them to make them nervous. Munro had NOTHING today......I wish Redding was on the playoff roster, at least he has good stuff...some days. DD
If you look at the pitch locator for Munroe, every one of his pitches is dead center in the plate, about belt high. I'm surprised he didn't give up 10 runs with location like that.
I'm glad Garner started Munro and I'm happy with Garner for that, but I believe he coulda stuck with Munro through 3 or 4. Now the whole freaking bullpen is going to be used.
