Series over. Bullpen blew the series and its sad to see this great season end up short. No way the Cards blow a 2-0 lead.

This hurts so bad because we had so many chances. It's one thing to get beat, it's another to beat yourselves.

Thanks for everything Phil Garner and Dan Vermiceli.

Most of you guys had already left... I guess you came back just to say this again.

There's no room for the weak fans in October baseball...

A Pete Munro loss is ok. I would have pitched him in game one and used a more rested Backe to get a split in the first two games. The Astros were probably in trouble given their lack of pitching depth when they didn't take Atlanta out in 4 at home. Oh, well. They can come back and make it interesting.

....And Miceli and Harville didn't pitch to win the game

....And Bagwell and Kent didn't hit to win the game

Come on, this isn't like football, where the coach is responsible for the team's shortcomings. The players didn't execute tonight.

Unbelievable ... Don't know what the hell Garner was thinking. You gotta go with your best against their best. We had Beltran leading off the 9th so there was a good chance we'd get the lead and lidge would be in to close it out already.

piss-poor managing ... He needs to think "inside the box" occasionally.

    :Extremely Pissed:

    Well,

At least it is gonna be a good series, but right now if the Cards steal one against either of our aces we are toast.

The Braves won a game that both Roger and Roy started.

This is not looking good folks.

On a side not...Pujols is an insanely good hitter, wow !

Miceli shouldn't have had a chance to blow this game so it IS Garner's fault. The Harville homer .. I don't blame that on Garner at all.

I know it's hard to believe right now, but this series is not over. Yeah, it hurts that we're down 2-0, but remember, we've got the best two pitchers in the NL going in the next two games, plus a Backe who has been lights out at home in Game 5. We've still got to BELIEVE!

    Exactly.

As frustrating as these first two losses were, the Cards were heavy favorites these first two games.

The good news is, we have Oswalt and Clemens pitching 4 out of the last 6 games. If we can take care of business Sat and Sun, then we will be in the driver's seat IMO. No doubt about it.

    I believe

Garner deserves 95% of the blame for this ****.

2 ridiculous decisions with the pitching. Unbelievable.

I bet Miceli couldn't believe it when he went out there for the bottom 8th.

Thank God Roger is pitching next. He won't let Garner yank him early.

    Nick and Codell,

No one left the team, everyone is still a fan....they are just venting.

Please learn to tell the difference.

Personally for me it is ...in order

    1. Rockets
    2. Astros

Don't really have a football team now.

The stros have got to play better on defense and in the little things.

Right now they are completely outclassed by the Cards.

I think this is a great point. We left 11 runners on tonight and we didn't put a shaky Morris in the grave.

If we would have broken this open early, then.................

Your wrong. Micelli and Harville should have never even seen the playing field tonight. Wheller should have been up in place of Harville to begin with and Lidge should have been brought up to pitch the 8th, 9th, and if needed, the 10th. From that point, you move to Oswalt.

I think Garner is second guessing himself at this point in time. I think he wanted Lidge in the 8th, but was afraid of the reprocussions if Lidge gave up a run.

He has to manage how he sees fit and let the fans and media who critisize him be damned. He flat out knows better than they do.
