No praying for rain, no cursing the bull**** umps, no b****ing about bad luck, absolutely no ****ing crying about how it's "over" before the ****ing game starts. Nut up. Play ball. Go Stros.
**** yes. Even if the umps squeezed us in their big inning. By the way, on behalf of Buck Turgidson and the dormant poster hatershaker, we take full responsibility for the loss. Some middle-aged gentlemen had already secured the Texas Table at Kay's by the time we arrived. That will not happen again.
It's gonna be high scoring again. A game that Munro starts has to be. I'm very concerned about him taking the mound, and I'm sure he'll be on a real short least. If he doesn't go 5 solid innings and forces the Astros to rely on the bullpen, it'll be a very bad thing. Here's hoping the Astros bats stay hot....Also, hoping for no more cheap hits by the Cards.
I'm not praying for rain, but that doesnt change the fact that it doesnt look like they are going to be able to play tonight. In fact, the ALCS game tomorrow night looks to be in jeopardy well.
It was the best of times, it was the worst of times. We'll get slaughtered tonight: 12-3 or 12-4, BUT: We will rally back on Saturday with Cammy providing the inspiration and this will be a different series come Saturday. We'll eventually win the series, but it will look bleak tonight. Book it. All above is obviously IMHO. Also, in IMHO I should be doing JLH on a plane and that hasn't panned out too well yet. So take it for what it is worth.
I would love to know what is going thru Pete Munro's head right now. Munro has 5 pitches...fastball, curve, change, slider and splitter. All of his pitches are pretty mediocre. That being said, for Munro to win tonight, he will have to keep the Cardinals hitters totally off balance. Fastball at the head, followed by a changeup at the knees type of thing. If he can do this, and pitch 6 innings where at the very least, the Astros were down by 1-2 runs, the Astros have a chance. If Munro does not keep the ball down, and the Cards tee off, it will be 0-2 faster than you can say Charlie Kerfeld. I am an optomist. Munro will rise to the challenge tonight. Astros - 6 Cards - 5 In 11 innings.
Pete "I haven't pitched since October 1st" Munro versus Matt "5.35 ERA in the 2nd half of the season" Morris? Yikes! Astros: 67 Cardinals 62
i like your sig. craig biggio can't finish one sentence without the phrase, "once again" somewhere in there.
11-4 Good Guys. Offense remains alive, and rips this one open to bring back all the glorious enthusiasm that was on this board. People once again jump aboard. Then the Astros move on to try to finish this series in Houston.
hey....being optimistic..... very optimistic. We have 3 home games in a row after tonight don't we? And notice.....I said try. A team should always try to finish something. Although I see us winning tonight, and 2 at home.
Cool. I have had the feeling we would win it in 6. Last night hurt, considering we had a very good offensive game. Like 4 HR's? That 6 run inning really killed us. Dang, anyone vote on the Astros and Cardinals sites? It's not too big of a gap on the Astros website, where like 35,000 voted. Then at the Cardinals website like 125,000 have voted. and the gap is HUGE in the astros favor to win in 4 or 5.
