when i saw that hit, i instantly remembered that Sanders still has a gun for an arm ...........Vizcaino forgot about that
i would be ok with viz's aggressiveness if he had been even close to making it. when you get thrown out by 10 feet you shouldn't have gone after it with only one out. and ausmus, why did you even go up to the plate? just fill out some paperwork for a K next time so we can avoid the formality.
Honestly... if every player got to hit against Morris, they'd have at least one HR. He's just about like Jose Lima of 2000 this year. But, if all we're gonna do is hit HR's, we need to start getting guys on base ahead of them... or start MANUFACTURING runs. I don't like being compared to the Cubs in ANY way... but right now, we are close to a carbon copy... striking out looking on hittable pitches, and not driving in any runs with guys on base. This next inning for Munro will be huge.
Funny how close Viz came to being safe... terrible tag by the Card 2nd baseman, missing Viz's lead leg and almost tagging Viz's trailing leg after Viz got the plate. I have no probs with Viz trying for two... need to be aggressive up there to manufacturer runs since the hitting isn't coming with guys on base. Putting him on 2nd with Ausmus up at least gets the 'stros a chance for the run.
There was nothing wrong with Viz... Sanders made a tremendous play.... even the announcers said that if he had 10 chances to do it, he'd only be able to make that throw once.
