Currently raining in St. Louis, with the forecast calling for a 50% chance of rain today and tomorrow.

yeah..this is what i'm seeing too. weather.com's hourly forecast for today has 50% chance of rain all through the day and evening.

i just looked at the very same page you posted, josh, and it said 50%. weird.

If it rains for two days, the Cards are going to see Clemens and Oswald. If we play the next two games as scheduled and we get just one, the Cards are in trouble; if we get two, they are in serious trouble. Again, Astros in six.

Backe should give us 6 solid innings tonight. At the worst, he will keep us in the game. He's young, pumped full of adrenaline, and ready to go. I, personally, am not worried about the 3 days rest with him.

Munro won't be around long enough to get us out of the game. Any sign of him slipping will bring on the hook. As long as Backe can go 6, the pen should be fresh enough to go 7 if necessary in game 2. With Clemens and Oswalt in 3 & 4 on normal rest, the pen will get it's rest then and be ready for game 5.

I would really love to see the series get pushed back a game, but the weather would really have to be bad in St Louis for them to do that. I think the Cards would rather play in a hurricane if it would mean they would only have to face Oswalt and Clemens 3 times instead of 4.

man....it would be nice to not have to throw Munro out there.....

I want to watch a game tonight, I can't wait much longer for the stros.

Even if the game is rained out, we would still likely throw Munro at least once. On the positive side, we'd have Clemens and Oswalt each pitch twice on full rest.

yeah, I guess it would be best for us to have this one rain out....although I would wrather watch the game than the debate.

A rain out tomorrow would be perfect.

I'm confident Backe can go on 3 days game 1

    Wed - Backe
    Thurs - Rain out
Fri - oswalt on full rest
Sat - Clemens on full rest
Sun - Munro on 34 days rest
Mon - Backe on full rest
    Tues - off day
Wed - oswalt on full rest
Thurs - clemens on full rest

it's funny how some people are now hoping that a rain delay will give the astros a better chance to win..

    a little more faith please.

    GO STROS!!

Oswalt pitched on Monday, meaning he won't be on full rest until Saturday if my calculations are correct.

Looking at the weather a rainout tomorrow is defnitely more likely than today ... Your rotation looks perfect for the Astros except that you need to swap Clemens and Oswalt as you have them backwards.

But it looks like a nice setup to me ...

Hey now...I can't help it that I don't like the idea of a possible game 6 and 7 (if the cards can get past Cy Backe) with Roger and Roy O on 3 days rest.
