We really need at least a split of these first two games. The Stros will probably jump out early with all their momentum. Prediction: Stros in seven, Beltran causes at least three GM's to approach their shrinks with "I've been having recurring wet dreams....and they're not about women....."
we really need a split, true. but take this from st. louis' angle. if they somehow lose game 1, they will be pressing. now they're already down 1 game, staring at 1 more at home before going to MMP to face a fresh Clemens and Oswalt. that's pretty daunting. if the astros split. that puts a lot of pressure on the redbirds. frickin cahdnals.
Yeah I got that but here are the full schedules. Bos vs. NYY (times est.) 10-12 8:00 pm 10-13 8:00 pm 10-15 8:00 pm 10-16 8:00 pm 10-17 8:00 pm 10-19 8:00 pm 10-20 8:00 pm Hou vs. Stl (times est.) 10-13 8:00 pm 10-14 8:00 pm 10-16 4:00 pm 10-17 4:00 pm 10-18 8:00 pm 10-20 4:00 pm 10-21 8:00 pm Game 1 of the NLCS and Game 2 of the ALCS are both showing as being scheduled for the same time on teh same channel.
ummm...i'm seeing 60% chance of rain in st. louis tomorrow night for game 1. 20% chance of rain in st. louis on thursday. how huge would that be?? i'm guessing rain on wednesday would mean backe going in game 1...and clemens going in game 2. oswalt game 3 on saturday. and probably munro in game 4??
Damn you Max A deal is a deal so I will change it once the season is over with even though I was right about more things than you. Braves won title, won more games than Stros, won over 95 games
A deal is a deal, no doubt. But seriously...my team just punked yours in the first round of the playoffs. What kind of victory is that?? What kind of sig would I have?? "Braves won more games in the regular season than the Astros" and then in smaller font: "But no one in Houston or Atlanta gives a damn, because the 'stros knocked the braves out of the playoffs" The whole bet just rings super-hollow at this point. I'll pay up...but are you sure you want to enforce that one??
Cas, on the little scroll at the bottom of the tube where they run scores, it said that the channels were "Fox and FSN, TBD".
Only 25 percent of the people are picking the astros to beat the cardinals, which is suprising. Time to corrupt yet another poll! Go to the bottom right column. http://espn.go.com/ Who will win the nlcs? Astros in 4 or 5 games - 2.1% Astros in 6 or 7 games - 23.2% Cardinals in 4 or 5 games - 39.0% Cardinals in 6 or 7 games - 35.6% 45+K votes total as of now. Go ASTROS!!!!!!
Im not a big time Braves fan. I like The Astros and the Braves come second. I just enjoy how they change players every season and still win 90+ games. Since we split on the bet how about we both change our sigs for 2 weeks when the season is over with.
Thanks. I'll keep an eye out and see where the game will actually be shown. edit: I got clarification from FSN. It will depend on local affiliates. FOX will carry one game and FSSW will carry the other. It will be different in different markets, but everyone should be getting both games.
Regular Fox will carry one game and the other game is going to be on a FOX Cable Channel which could be Fox Sports or even FX. It's just one of the cable affiliates that will carry the second game. Of course it is all dependant on the Market you are in.
If you look on TVGuide.com, it shows that one game will be on Fox and the other will be shown on Fox Sports Net The big question for me is which one is going to be shown where as I am in SoCal and I won't be home from work when the game starts .. It would be nice to have it recorded, but I need to know tonight which channel to record ... argh!!!
As an Astro fan, of course, I want them to win; but, in my heart of hearts, I think they are going to win. The bats are hot (Beltron is on fire!) and the pitching will prevail (pray for the bullpen). Astros in 6. On to the World Series against the New York Yankees. This is crazy!
I say we take 1 out of 2 from them in St. Louis. Take 2 out of 3 here and finish it up in Game 6 in St. Louis. It would be really nice to do it at home but i will take it any way we can. We need to just take 1 in the first 2 games with our average pitchers to let the big guns take it to their average pitcher.
http://www.chron.com/cs/CDA/ssistory.mpl/metropolitan/2844112 per Richard Justice: It's Backe in Game 1 and Munro in Game 2 I don't get it. If Munro has to pitch one of those games, why not Game 1, so Backe can go on 4 day's rest???
I guess so that Backe can go on regular rest in game 5 b/c if he started game 2 then he would have to go on short rest for game 5. I guess they also feel more confident with Backe on short rest than Munro well-rested.
