Hopefully we won't be down 0-2, but Game 3 is definitely going to be HUGE. Way to keep fighting Berkman!
Colt stadium first game played there in 1962. The last one in Sep 1964, team renamed the Stros in 1965. Stadium still stands in Mexico DD
Nah, I just am a passionate fan.....wear my heart on my sleave. I have no time for panzy fans who call others names because they have a different opinion. What a joke. DD
They just gotta BELIEVE that they can win. They have enough talent, they just have to believe - that's all. They can beat this team and make it to the series but they have to want it more than the Cards.
Ding Ding! Guys, the good Dr. is telling the truth! He's a true OF (Original Fan). He's definitely an Old School Houston baseball fan...
Are you including the middle relief in that statement? EDIT: No sooner do I say that when Wheeler strikes out the heart of the Cards' order ....
I guess being a fan since the 60s qualifies me as bandwagoner, maybe after watching them for 50 years I will be a full fledged casual fan like Codell. DD
The Astros were born when they began wearing the Rainbow unis and traded for Jose Cruz. Anything before then just didnt matter. The team sucked, the name sucked, and the players were over the hill veterans.
Jimmy Wynne, Larry Dierker, Don Wilson..... They had some decent players...some who played in the rainbows as well...Joe Morgan etc... DD
Your profile says 69. And if you were born in 64, it still came after the Colt 45s last season. I guess you were following them before you were born? It does pertain to the topic. We were talking about fans second guessing Garner no? Kind of like what you do with Garner????? *gotcha* So Dierker was a good manager or not? http://bbs2.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=23292 http://bbs2.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=23189 They didn't critisize the Qualls move. They critisized the Lidge and Biggio moves. Questioning him is more a part of being an armchair manager, than it is a fan, which is something you are very good at (I mean that in the nicest way)..
Qualls wouldn't touch the ball again in the CS if it were my team. And most of the hits Backe gave up where fastballs too high, like he was a lil too excited. With that said, I probably would have left him in the game to atleast finish the inning. I mean, if the alternative was Qualls, he could do no worse. This bullpen had a string of games when they were decent, could I even say, close to being good? But now it seems those days might be numbered. But hey, it is only game 1 in a series that I think will go atleast 6 games.
