Unfortunately, for Clemens and Oswalt to pitch twice, they will be picthing on 3 days rest the 2nd time around. Against Atlanta, both of them struggled and was nowhere near their full dominanting potential. When you can barely get through 5 innings against the weak hitting Braves, you're in trouble, especially on the road in St. Louis.
Exactly, that is why I think it is crucial to steal one of these in St Louis, I think the only way we win the series is if we get up 3-1 after Clemens and Oswalt. Just an opinion..... GO STROS !! DD
UMMM what the hell have you been watching? Biggio just hit .400 against the Braves and led off the game with a hit tonight.
Ausmus is a terrible major league hitter, do we have a catcher in the minors who can hit? What ever happened to the big burly catchers who are power hitters? The Stros need a catcher who can contribute at the plate, Ausmus is just not it..... DD
maybe so, and i thought oswalt should've gone longer in game 2 against atl) but a guy like backe pitching on 3 days rest for the first time ever? when do you take him out. do you wait til the shelling starts or do you anticipate it as best you can. i can't see anyway you let him go past the 5th with his pitch count reaching 100 and the cards starting to put something together on him. garner just made a terrible choice of who to replace him with.
With that lineup and Clemens and Oswalt...I think they should have expected to be here.... Now that they are here, they need to take advantage. DD
Without ejecting too much emotion, the reality is our bullpen just plain sucks. Both Qualls and Harville have potential but are inexperienced and not overpowering. Gallo sucks. Micelli and Springer are losers. Garner has no confidence in Wheeler.
Exactly, Which is why I think Garner should rely more on his starters...just let them know that they are going to be ridden hard and put away wet. DD
I didn't mean to jump on you, but I'm pissed off right now, I think that's understandable as to why, so sorry again. I'm just saying, we can't really pin the non-hitting on Bidge right now, he's been doing great. And, I wouldn't want to switch any of them out. We could use a better defensive right fielder, though.
