Stone's pet project but he's not a rotation level NBA player imo. He could only make the Rox(Stone) and a few other crappy teams.
this is being far too generous. He shouldn't even be in the league, so default classifying him as some "pg" is meaningless. he's a certified scrub
Agree 100 %, and that is saying something. On top of having absolutely no skill at all, he also seems to always have a kind of "negative attitude" face, or am I just imagining that?
I can give him this leeway that it's a system problem. But, I tend to determine natural playmaking ability on what guys do on the fastbreak and simple situations. Nix misses reads or just flat out makes the wrong decisions on fastbreaks consistently. He just doesn't seem to have good vision to see the play developing. I haven't seen this as the type of thing guys develop over time. I do agree that in a better system he may be able to execute a basic play but I don't think he'll ever be someone you trust to run the whole offense for big minutes.
Nix has played bad. He's not the problem or at least not one worth worrying about. Defense and experience are the biggest killers. Jabari and Jalen aren't making their shots. They aren't being setup either. Ideally, they are both being given the ball after a primary action or in Jalen's case, a floor with open lanes. Lack of a primary facilitator is strangling the offense.
No, he doesn’t appear to love the game. This can be seen by lack of conditioning and not practicing on the badics like free throws. He sucks and can’t understand how he gets playing time over Christopher and TyTy (with his so-called non healing injury).
Rockets front office considered him not only 1st round talent, but lottery talent which blows my mind and makes me question their talent evaluation.
well. that's the problem. After giving him such high praise, do you think Stone is just going to cut him? I will admit that Nix looked pretty good in the G league.
How in the world did he ever have the stats he did in the G? He is completely non assertive and slow footed and passive out there.
Not sure if you're joking but he definitely could be in much better shape. After he went undrafted, he lost a bunch of weight and looked pretty good but put it all back on after he got picked up by the Vipers. So it's definitely a discipline thing with him.
