Quintin looked dead to me. I was watching it on Tivo and paused to see Costa hooked up to the four posts with (at least) his face carved with the words "I CANT STOP" in blood above the bed. I'm thinking it may be Matt or Liz or in a really cheesy turn Christian's twin brother. (What twin? Exactly.)
I saw that stuff and I don't think Liz or Quentin is the Carver. Obviously, Quentin was carved up there and Liz was too obvious with her being questioned(i.e. their trying to get us to think it is Liz before unveiling the real Carver surprise). I almost got the feeling from that preview that it was, in fact, Matt. But, Matt seemed to turn a corner in his behavior in this most recent episode so I would be floored if it was him. Plus, he didn't seem to fit the size profile of the Carver. The Carver also appears to be flat chested from the pics I've seen and the freeze frames so I would rule out a female at this point. I'm not sure who it is. They always dice up those previews for the next episode to mislead so... . The Carver did say "What don't you like about yourself?" at one point mimicking Sean and Christian at the beginning of each show. I guess we find out what happens to Kimber next episode. I don't think she is going to make it based on the previews but...again...the previews are trickery at its finest. Someone appears to die next episode.
/whsipers to surfguy/ the carver in the show is a stand in, not the actual actor that will be unmasked.
Sean as the carver would be brilliant, however, I'm not sold...Although, I'm still an episode behind...I just watched the plane crash last night...
Yeah, and I read somewhere that the voice is being done by one of the writers, so you can't go off what that sounds like either. As it stands, I'm thinking there is probably only a handful of people who know who the Carver is. Maybe not even the actors themselves.
You didn't miss anything in regards to the Carver last night with the exception of the preview for next week. Quintin getting his... http://perfect-lie.net/gallery/displayimage.php?album=24&pos=0 EDIT: and a excerpt from an interview with him in TV Guide... TVGuide.com: OK, then can you tell me who the Carver is? Campos: It's funny, because I know so many people speculate on what's going to happen. I will say this: It's not guessable what is going to happen. I just haven't heard of anybody — none of my friends, people who watch the show — nobody has guessed. We're wrapped now, so I know what happens. I'll just tell you this: You'll never guess, never in a million years. TVGuide.com: So you didn't have a little betting pool on set about who the Carver was? Campos: We did have a pool. TVGuide.com: So who won? Campos: I won $100 off Joely [Richardson]. And I'm framing it! She wrote me a check for $100 and I made her write "You win, I lost" in the corner. TVGuide.com: It sounds like you have fun behind the scenes. Campos: We're all partaking in this mystery that everybody wants to have the scoop on. It's very interesting. It's not like an Agatha Christie type of mystery, where it ends up being the butler. TVGuide.com: Right, with the candlestick... Campos: Right. You're not going to guess it, but at the same time, it makes sense. It's not random, it totally fits in with the scenes and the psychology of Nip/Tuck. What has always been the most interesting thing about this Carver thing to me is not who it is — although that is interesting — but more importantly for me, why? Why is the Carver, as opposed to who is the Carver.
Well...if the stand-in is male and the actual carver is male, then that is fine. However, if the stand-in is male and the actual carver turns out to be female, then I'm just plain pissed off then.
Well, they hadn't originally planned on needing to distinguish. The Carver wasn't meant to be a big time story line, but just a criminal that struck for one episode. After the show, there was such a cry to find out who the Carver was, they turned it into a big deal...but they had already used a male actor as the Carver. Had they stuck with that, they would have been forced to eliminate a lot of the potential suspects, just because they hadn't anticipated where the show took them. I don't think you would have to suspend your disbelief all that much to imagine a female taping down her boobs so that their sex is unidentifiable. I mean, this person is raping their victims, so it is logical to imagine that whoever it is is imagining themselves a man when they are doing it, so they will dress the part.
Agreed. That really ticked me off, actually. Sean is a lot of things. But he's not someone who would walk off and "take a break" in the middle of a life or death operation. Out of character.
hi everybody, i just started watching the show . can some please fill me in on the Carver? what happened? i heard alot about the show but just started watching it recently and i got alot to catch up on. thanks
just got thru watching the latest ep, which in all the excitement of the preview for the season finale was a bloody sensational episode, certainly a classic nip/tuck, one of the best feelgood nip/tucks of all time and they have certainly brought things to a head for the end of the season and big carver ep certainly a nice uplifting thing for Matt to work out the Nazi chick and do the right thing.. interesting that he goes to Christian for support when i was Sean who was more strongly opposed to the Nazi chick and worked her out straight away as for who it is not really sure and it would appear a waster of time to trying to speculate..... it is nip tuck and as a result will be a complete shock and i am happy to wait and see it happen quick question was that Kimbers breast implant that christian was pulling out of a box in the next episode???
I loved the first season of Nip/Tuck. Then I dunno...it got too weird for me, but this Carver thing with the MySpace vids have got me interested. I guess I'll get the DVDs or torrents and join in on the fun again.
I've decided to stop speculating as well and just wait until tomorrow. I read somewhere where one of the writers basically stated that no one is going to correctly guess who it is/how we go about finding out. He said all his relatives and friends ask him and make predictions, none of which have been right. It might be BS to try to throw people off, but it wouldn't surprise me if the last episode is so outrageous that it is virtually unpredictable.
A tad bit disappointed too. I heard FX leaked spoilers on their website earlier but thank god I didn't see it. I DO though want to know where the storylines will go though. I was left in more suspense at teh end of season 2, but it wasn't all bad. Just a bit mad at a lot of holes in their attempt of a twist. Hopefully they will be answered next season.
We had a viewing party for this craptacular episode. That said, I've got a bet that I need y'all to help me with. Was Costa ever in Season 2? And if he was, what episode? This season was by far the worst of the three. At least I have consolation in the fact that Christian is not going to be in a relationship anymore. He needs to go back to the narcissistic a$$hole we all grew to love.
