Looks like Trent won his case against his ex-manager. Hopefully this means he will be re releasing Closure some time soon on DVD. It was coming out awhile back but never happened. Then I read on nin.com that he was waiting to finish some unfinished business with an ex-manager before it could be done. Hopefully this is the unfinished business. I have it on video but I want the DVD. And on another note I just got my tickets to see them in Osaka in August. It's seems like a long time away but I can't wait. http://music.msn.com/music/article.aspx?news=192581>1=6657 Nine Inch Nails Singer Awarded $3 Million Jun 1, 7:21 AM EST A jury awarded Nine Inch Nails alternative rocker Trent Reznor $2.95 million after finding his former manager breached his contract and acted fraudulently, a lawyer said Tuesday. The jury in Manhattan federal court delivered the verdict Friday against John Malm, Reznor's longtime manager, said attorney Zia F. Modabber. The award likely would top $4 million when interest is added. Modabber said he called Reznor, who is on tour, with the news. "He was almost silent at first. It's still sinking in," Modabber said. "It's been a difficult thing for him in a lot of ways. They were very, very close friends." A lawyer for Malm did not immediately return a call for comment Tuesday. The civil verdict came after a three-week trial in which Reznor testified that he was stunned to learn in 2003 that despite millions of dollars in earnings, he was left with as little as $400,000 in cash. "I felt I had an accountant I couldn't trust," Reznor testified. Reznor sued Malm, contending he duped Reznor into signing a contract that gave Malm 20 percent of his gross earnings rather than net earnings, and let Malm collect the commission forever. A lawyer for Malm, Alan Hirth, said in an opening statement that Malm worked many years for no salary — and kept nothing secret from Reznor. Nine Inch Nails' fourth studio album and first in six years, "With Teeth," debuted last month at No. 1 in sales.
Just saw NIN in Osaka at the Summer Sonic Festival this last weekend. Awesome show. It was my first time to see them. Simply amazing. I will be back in October and have my ticket to the Dallas show. Oh yeah, Trent has chopped the hair off and is big. He looks a little like Henry Rollins now. Here are some pictures I took.
Set list I got off the net. I think it might be missing a song or two. Don't remember exactly. pinion wish march of the pigs the line begins to blur something i can never have the hand that feeds terrible lie closer→the only time with teeth the frail→the wretched burn even deeper suck gave up hurt star****ers inc. head like a hole
NIN's new video for Only is sweet. You can watch it with Quicktime on the official NIN website. The band will be here again in October for another concert.
Going to the show in Dallas at AA arena tonight. Have a floor ticket. Can't wait. Death from Above 1979 and Queens of the Stone Age are opening. It is going to be a great show.
I saw them last night in San Antonio and will see them in Houston later this week. It should be noted that since they have a replacement drummer (Jerome Dillon has heart trouble) they are playing pretty much the same set every night. My girlfriend who has been to the Cleveland, Chicago and San Antonio shows on this leg of the tour said the set list was pretty much the same throughout. She also saw them in Vienna and Berlin in the early summer and said it was pretty much the same as well. I took some pictures last night and will post them up soon, I had a seat to the right of the stage 4 rows back, which were perfect... I'll be in the pit for the Houston show. I can say I've seen Trent was "on" last night, one of the best shows I've seen him perform... he was really energetic and responsive to the somewhat passive San Antonio crowd (they responded well but weren’t active like Houston pits can be). I saw them with Harrisment in Houston and Austin in May for their small venue tour, and while they sounded great then, they were much more stripped down then the current arena tour. There are a lot of great visuals during the show, and the band was pretty active on stage and receptive to the crowd. They play about half of the new album, so if you don’t own it yet, make sure you do your homework… it is worth it! San Antonio Set List: Pinion Love is Not Enough You Know What You Are? The Dallas show was great. I really liked Death From Above 1979. They are a two person bad from Canada. But I thought Queens of the Stone Age were not as good. They just were dull and had no stage presence I though. NIN was great. They played a little bit of a different set from when I saw them in Osaka two months ago. The visuals and lighting was much better this time around too. I was on the floor and actually caught one of the water bottles that Trent threw into the crowd. The only problem with the night is when I got a text message from a friend in the middle of NIN that told me about Pujols' HR. I'll be there tomorrow night at Toyota Center. Same day I start my new job and game 6 of the NLCS. Gonna be a full day, hopefully all 3 things work out.
With a new drummer, I suppose taking a crack at The Perfect Drug wasn't even given a moment's consideration for the setlist. oh well. I'm actually really looking forward to hearing the [A_WITHA_TEETHA] stuff tomorrow night. I guess I'll be checking for 'Stros updates on my cell phone during the NIN concert. I hate you, Pujols.
Can't wait! My lady friend is a member of the Spiral Fan club and if you get there early (1:30-2:00) they allow about 50 people inside for sound check and a "meet and greet" with the band for autographs and such... pretty awesome.
