Sellers was a top 10 pick by the Bulls out of Ohio St. where he was a 7'0" player with an excelent midrange shot. Furthermore, ecause of his height, it was easy to get his shot off. I think that the Bulls saw him as a poor man's Ralph Sampson, because he was a guy they could play at center because of his height, but could play outside as well. The problem was he couldn't do anything else beside shoot 15 foot jumpers. At Ohio St. he was the offense, and the offense consisted of runing him off screens for jumpers, which emphasized his good shooting. In the NBA, he couldn't create his own shot, because he couldn't put the ball on the floor and had no latteral quickness. Furhermore, he couldn't rebound or play defense because he couldn't really jump or move quickly and in addition didn't care to do the dirty work. In fact, another player who resembles him a bit was Dan Langhi, who was another guy who put up great numbers in college when the offense was built around his strengths, but wasn't a complete enough player to adapt. After he left Chicago his faults were clear to everyone and he was never more thant a 5-10 minute part time player. I think he did play for Detroit, among others.
