Not sure if sarcasm? If computers were used, there'd be even less of a chance of a player not named Jokic, to win the award. Stats ('advanced' and otherwise) suggest that the overwhelming favorite for MVP is Jokic.

Jokic won't win the MVP award. How much will it have to do with what Perkins started? Who knows.

perkins is tied to klutch sports.. ie Lebron James

Lebron aint win 3 straight, so no way a player playing while Lebron is playing will win 3 straight mvp's... lebron is a very petty self-centered person. Perkins is just a mouthpiece for Lebron, Rich Paul and Klutch Sports. I really believe Lebron tanked the 2011 NBA Finals because if the heat won, wade would have won finals mvp over him

Interesting take. For as sloppy as it was, this sabotage will probably work.

Something was fishy about that 2011 performance.

    Embiid deserves it more

the advanced stats argument is full of sh*t when Jokic is out here grading out as 1 of the best on defense via the “stats”….complete and utter bullsh*t

advanced stats geeks that act like it’s the be-all and end-all have truly ruined the sport

Jokic is 1st in RAPTOR and all these other random assortment of letters…Giannis ranks 10th in RAPTOR

Why are people taking it so seriously?

don’t know why people act like that nonsense and whatever new flavor of the month advanced stat that’s out there is gospel

gaslighting that Jokic is really good on defense and the MVP isn’t close…it’s a huge joke

I think it's fine to argue we should give it to Embiid because it's his "turn " and Jokic and Giannis have already had multiple turns - he's certainly worthy and MVP is subjective anyway.

It would make him very happy & he deserves it, why not just give it to him?

Jokic's defense is overstated. The Nuggets are elite offensively and average defensively. They are 1st place in the West because their offense is elite. They are elite offensively because of Jokic. So, Jokic could easily be MVP based on what he does offensively. It's almost like a quarterback in football. He's also been clutch this season if I'm not mistaken. I mean, before the Nuggets started slumping.

Embiid is excellent all-around and elite defensively. The 76ers are a great all-around team and have a much better chance than the Nuggets at winning the championship because of Embiid. He has possibly the best case for MVP without having to tear down Jokic.

All this talk affected him and the Nuggets. People out here discrediting his first two MVPs and muddying up the water of this year's MVP vote. Maybe this would have happened either way.

if they anoint him a 3 straight MVP winner, and his team flames out in the postseason, it will be an even bigger joke than Westbrook winning back in 2017

the bias is so real…Kendrick Perkins should’ve worded his thoughts better and came with better receipts

“Embiid played the game to beat Jokic, Jokic played the game to win”….that’s the takeaway after Embiid dominated Jokic

    what an outrageous quote
