Go back and pull up the Fauci conversation…. The one where Fauci made his mask comment before Covid was declared a pandemic by WHO. It’s clear to me there was a bunch of uncertainty regarding Covid on March 8th 2020 when the statement was made. When we got more information then the mask recommendation changed, no?
by March 8, 2020 we all knew it was a pandemic. I was traveling that Sunday, from SFO, and already about half the folks in the airport, and on the plane, were wearing masks. the couple I sat next to gave themselves, and their seats, and the seat backs in front of them, a virtual sitzbath in purell, before masking up for the trip. Fauci said masks made no difference...for a ****ing respiratory disease?
Nope. Fauci updated mask recommendations shortly after. Recommendations were updated as more information became available. And you still have addressed the PPE shortage in the very beginning, which was also a factor. All you have are “gotchas”…..
All you have are gotchas, correcting typos, and your version of reality. You pretty much had to dismiss most of what I had said to get where you are.
I remember when Fauci/the DHHS or whoever it was said we didn’t need masks and of course we all knew that was nonsense at the time. Then a little while later they said we do need masks and the “justification” was Fauci/ the DHHS wanted to preserve those masks for medical professionals. It was clearly a lie, maybe for a good reason but still a lie.
you conveniently mis-remember. at the beginning, there was a shortage of facemask available; Health care workers across the country were desperate for masks and other basic supplies they need to treat patients with Covid-19 and to keep themselves protected from the coronavirus. They’re pleading for the Trump admin to use the Defense Production Act, requiring private companies to prioritize any federal government orders for products — including masks; the Trump admin refuse to do so. one of the reasons given was that it'd amount to socialism. as a result, Fauci advised that non-healtcare workers should not go out and buy facemasks, as they'd be competing against the HC workers for them. this dilemma led to a movement to home-made masks, https://babylock.com/learn-and-create/inspiration/face-masks once there was enough supply of facemask, Fauci recommended the use of facemask you clearly mis-remember the facts
Not sure how the bolded was possible on 3/8/20..... Hell.... it's 2023 and many republican still don't believe in masks.
...and he will at all costs. Sometimes I do think life as we know it is a simulation, but that's another subject matter.
Trump is a racist, and there’s plenty of evidence of this (see his race-based attacks against Elaine Choi, among others). Don’t play dumb. Him calling it the “China virus” is not about informing the public of its origins (which everyone knew and would be unnecessary). It was about drumming up anger towards a (non-white) foreign adversary because his base eats that up like catnip.
In the beginning Fauci didn't recommend healthy people wear masks. That is because at that point no one knew 40-45% of people who had COVID-19 were asymptomatic. Also because of a mask shortage. Once the asymptomatic fact was determined Fauci definitely recommended wearing masks
I remember how awful Colbert treated Stewart during that episode. https://nypost.com/2023/02/28/jon-s...ked-covid-19-lab-leak-theory-f-k-you-im-done/
