Probably because there are a couple of French players in San Antonio that Batum was looking forward to playing with.
Draftexpress is reporting on their draft blog that they acquired Batum in a trade. If that's true, I wonder what we are getting in exchange.
it's a step in the right direction, or are you still bitter we picked Hakeem over Jordan? just admit you don't know anything about Batum like 99% of the board and go from there
Well I was going to post, Batum's on-line interview on ESPN, b ut I guess that doesn't matter anymore.......but here it was: ce of playing for any team in the NBA which one would it be? Nicolas Batum: I think Houston was on the list for me. I didn't have an idea coming in here. I just want to play in the NBA. I think Houston is a good team for me. No offense to the Batum supporters. This pick is barbaric, we could've picked up D. Arthur, or Donte Green, but instead we want to pick another import from another country so we can have an international team? We don't need this, we don't want a project that we have to wait for 2-3 years, we need a player that can contribute right away, look at Aaron Brooks or even ... LOL..
