I think it's because Morey has doggedly built this team to matchup with Golden State specifically, not necessarily remembering that we might have to beat other top teams to get there.

History has a lot of examples of teams that were kryptonite for top teams, but just didn't get to face them at the right time. The playoffs are all about facing the right teams at the right times, and Golden State has faced some awful teams in the 1st & second rounds and the finals. Rockets have had kryptonite matchups with inferior teams, going back to the 2005 Dirk Mavs and the Boozer-Kirilenko Jazz.

This take is hot ****ing garbage.

Gordon started this year in the worst funk of his career. Nothing to do with Harden and he probably is assisted by Harden the most on the team for 3s.

Tucker started the year on fire but spent the meat of the season in a horrible slump. Not Hardens fault.

These guys had zero problem catching and shooting and making these shots last year.

Im baffled that people can’t see that we were clearly missing wide open shots. Hell its actually possible for everyone to go look this stuff up. Nba.com/stats is an unbelievable tool for people to actually fact check what they think they are seeing in games. I know it’s not the easy way, but it should be what people strive for. Accuracy in their analysis of what they are watching.

Biased eyes watched that Warriors game and saw some free flowing everyone share the ball and dribble the ball and have their time with the ball offense, The reality was the polar opposite. Paul dominated it. More so than Harden normally does. Difference is a healthy cast of characters knocked down the open shots they were brought here to do and have done for both Harden AND Paul.

It sucks... but you have to involve your teammates.

How about when Harden goes 1-6 on step back 3s to close games? Hard to win that way too...

Lol. Your take is a hot emotional mess. Harden is awesome but his flaws do hurt. That’s on Harden for abandoning high PNR with Capela during the close out of the Laker game.

CP3 dominated the ball but made better decisions, he doesn’t rely on step back 3s but will probe the defense to get an open shot.

I love Harden but just going to be honest. Someone bias would use the “but the teammates weren’t making their shots prior to GSW”.

lol how can it be biased when it’s statistical fact.

This is what I’m talking about.

It’s peoples contention that we shoot better with Paul running the show compared to Harden.

Prove it. Probably won’t like what you find, but at least bring some concrete facts to the table. The tools to do so are available.

There probably only a handful of guys that post on this board that you should take their analysis without the facts to back it up. Yet that’s 95% of what you get here. Takes based on crappy eye tests without any fact checking of what they think they are seeing.

The role players were shooting poorly earlier this year. This is a fact that can be checked.

Gordon who was shooting in the 20s on 3s for the first half of the year turned his stroke around BEFORE Paul got back. How could that be? Because it don’t make a damn difference to these pros who is passing them ball as long as it’s a good shot.

What is a statistical fact, my take was hot garbage as you said?

Not mine, I just want Harden to use less step back 3s to close out games and incorporate a little bit of shot diversity.

... that CP3 is a top assist leader, I would hope Harden learns something from him.

Prove what? You got emotional and didn’t understand my post?

To me that reads Harden doesn’t give our guys good shots and that we shoot better with Paul running the show?

As I said, I prefer some balance. I just want Harden to maximize his strengths and minimize his weaknesses. I think Harden too often settles for shots while CP3 is constantly probing.

I dont think the team shots better with one guard verse the other overall.

Daryl Morey has built this team to beat the Warriors. It’s no surprise the Rockets match up well with them. However, teams like the Bucks and Sixers would give the Rockets trouble due to their combination of skill, length, and size.

"Trouble with the Sonics" is an understatement. Until they got knocked out before we got to them, we couldn't get past them.

The Rockets do not fear the Warriors at all, and the Rockets will physically overpower the Warriors.
Steph and Klay are like Austin Rivers size and KD is pretty thin.
GSW have Cousins, Green, and Igoudala. The Rockets have Capela, Faried, Tucker, Nene, Harden, Gordon, Shumpert, even CP. These are all powerful guys.

I'm starting to wish this streak would just end so that James doesn't have this lesser individual goal on his mind every game. This team is good when it stays involved and active.
