I can assure you Les will never release a player just to add more salary and shell out more luxury Tax.

Fazekas has no place in the league. Wait and see.

No to Fazekas. I liked him before the draft but after seeing him in some NBA games, he's painfully unathletic and uncoordinated against professional competition.

Maybe he can be a star for Panathinaikos?

I'd gladly take a flyer on Fazekas if we had to move Novak as part of a multi-player trade to bring in a Mike Miller/Szczerbiak/Artest star and had an open roster spot.

Not a difficult guess. He'd be a great reserve.

I'd try to open a roster spot just to give him a chance. I'd take him over Mike Harris! His college numbers were super. How do those translate to the NBA? He has LIMITED NBA minutes, they don't mean anything. His NBDL stats are huge (I know, it's just the NBDL, but...), starting from 2/9 and working backwards (this was hard to paste, sorry)

FGM-A 3GM-A FTM-A OR DR TOT AST PF ST TO BS PTS
    8-12 0-0 2-2 1 9 10 1 2 4 1 1 18

    8-13 0-0 11-11 4 12 16 0 3 0 6 2 27

    6-17 0-0 6-7 4 10 14 1 3 1 1 0 18

    14-19 0-0 6-8 3 3 6 2 2 2 2 0 34

    9-16 0-0 4-6 4 9 13 2 4 0 2 2 22

    7-11 0-0 7-10 5 9 14 4 4 0 4 2 21

    9-17 0-0 2-4 3 6 9 3 2 1 2 2 20

    9-16 0-0 2-2 2 14 16 4 2 1 4 0 20

    6-10 0-1 3-4 2 2 4 0 4 0 1 0 15

    8-18 0-1 1-2 3 9 12 1 1 0 2 1 17

    5-12 0-0 5-6 2 6 8 0 2 1 1 0 15

    13-22 0-0 6-9 7 11 18 1 4 1 4 2 32

    12-16 1-1 0-1 2 3 5 0 1 0 2 0 25

    10-17 0-1 5-6 3 6 9 1 1 3 1 1 25

There are more games but it's a pain to cut and paste. We know he can kill crappy players. Sign him to a few 10 day contracts and see what he looks like in practice. You can never have too many bigmen. Good rebounder and can score (at least in college and the NBDL). Take a chance on him with no risk.

That's interesting stats. Pretty decent efficiency, 1.43 pps. It would be interesting to see what Novak's efficiency was like in the D-league.

Like I said, I would be interested in taking a flyer on this guy if we traded Novak. This guy can obviously shoot and he's big with post moves, even has 3 point range. But he's pretty killer from mid range. However, he is slow, slow, slow. Wouldn't want both him and Novak taking up two roster spots. He would be interesting as a backup center next year with Deke gone.

Fazekas could be David Lee with a jump shot. He could also be just another great college player with little to no upside or athleticism to overcome his lack of speed and coordination. We'll have to see....

Nah. Fazekas cannot run and jump like Lee. And he doesn't scramble like Lee. Few do. Fazekas could be a young, taller Juwan Howard with more shooting range.

My main point is he's an excellent rebounder that doesn't mind being the smart, unheralded hustle guy that does all the little things. I agree that he's not as athletic as Lee but then again rebounding and hustle plays aren't all about athleticism.

I like his range. I've always been fascinated by him and to be honest, I called for us to draft him with our first rounder. An unpopular choice, for sure....that was before the Scola and Landry trades though.

A CLASSIC compare a white guy to a white guy even though their games are different.

Please read the above post and then get back to me.....

I guess since Lee was a scrappy hustle player in college just like he is in the pro's that means Fazekas will be a 20/10 player in the pro's just like he was in college too, right?

If you're Fazekas, a 6'11" PF, what exactly would you assume your role is going to be? To rebound, play smart, play defense and to be efficient offensively. No decent team is going to bring in Fazekas and give him the green light to take 20 shots a night, therefore I picture his role being very similar to Lee's role now.

It's not about comparing white guy to white guy. I'm talking more or less basketball IQ and rebounding ability.
