OP kinda opened with left-handed compliments, but it's more than I might have suggested. Truth is, they're a fairly decent organization, and it's a shame we weren't the team that drafted Dirk (not that Carroll Dawson was ahead-of-the-curve draftwise). Cuban does talk a little too much; I guess he can eat those words on chemistry he said about Morey. I should thank him for acquiring Rondo.
Dear Dallas Fans, Will is kind of like your nice uncle. Rarely gets mad, and even then it's kind of nice and funny. so....nice things. Fort Worth is awesome. Beef and boots on every corner. Oh yeah, I went to a mavs/rox game a few years back and after we beat you, a 11-year-old girl at the arena yelled '**** you!' at me. I actually liked that level of fanaticism, although I would have slapped her mouth if I was her parent.
Dirk's a cool guy on and off the court; took a lot of crap over the years from fans and even Dallas fans. Delivered a championship to that city and he's one of the best in the history of the game
I don't hate Mavericks fans as much as I hate Spurs fans. That's about the best I can do on this thread.
When the other team starts looking and playing like a D League team...then, yes, sympathy threads like this are allowed.
Maxwell comparing to Rondo?? Sorry but totally different situation, you lost me there. I don's give a f about the Mavs, Cuban, Parsons or any other player on that team but Greg Smith and Aminu.
Dirk's an all-time great. Carlisle is a very good coach. Cuban's a good owner. Tyson Chandler and Aminu are OK.
Why the hell does this thread exist? F**K OUTTA HERE WITH THIS THREAD! I usually just keep my mouth shut when it comes to Dallas especially during a playoff run. I'm sure as hell not going to say anything good.
I liked the Mavs when they had Roy Tarpley (RIP) and Rolondo Blackman. The only time I've ever rooted for the Mavs was when they beat Miami in the 1st year of the DBag tour. Other than that....I got nothing.
I lived in the greater Houston area until I was 18. Central Texas (Austin and San Marcos) for 7 or 8 years. Currently I've been living in a Dallas suburb for about 7/8 years. My ranking of texas cities is 1) Austin by far 2) Houston 3) Dallas Houston and Dallas are pretty much the same though. Just regular big cities. I give Houston the edge because it's closer to the gulf and I like to go fishing in the bay or offshore, and I like going to crystal beach in the summer. I definitely like the mavs better than the Spurs and I watch them more than any other team besides the rockets. I don't really have a problem with the team, I just have a problem with all the mavericks fans in my office who are clueless about basketball, and extremely overrate their players.
I hate the cowboys so much that.....comparatively.....my hatred for the Mavs is almost like true love. I'm thinking real hard about the Cowboys right now, so I can type: I love the Mavs.
