I wish Franchise wasn't good friends with Cuttino so we could trade him. I've never seen him pass. He takes so many dumb shots on his gay isolations!

Mobley's shooting just 30% from 3 point range. Why was the ball in his hands. Franchise had made like 3 straight!

Cuttino think he is all hard with his wannabe Pippen-ass! Barkley used to keep him in check! Boy I wished we still had Chuck!

Thefreak: A good post, as always. I thought that Francis was open. At the very least, he was more open than Mobley, and in addition, is a much better shooter from 3pt range. Besides, Mobley, while he didn't shoot from 30 as someone suggested, WAS significantly behind the line... and at that range, a couple feet is pretty important (refer to how much the league % went up when the line was brought in).

Of course other players could have effected the course of the game. Heck, we could run through every play of the game, and trace something that should have been done differently. That's not at issue. At issue, is whether Mobley makes poor decisions in crunch time. His track record, ever since his first-game buzzer beater, has been getting worse.

I'm not blaming Mobley for the LOSS. You're right... everyone is responsible for that. I am blaming him for making another boneheaded end-of-game play. You can name mitigating factors all you want... but I don't want this to become a pattern.

The way I loook at it, we had two chances to tie it that we should've never had. We fouled the Jazz on the two previous defensive plays and they let it go. We did well to get within 3 points.

What I would like to know is why didn't Rudy take a timeout before the final play? We had one remaining. He could have used it to set up an opne shot for Bull.

Roll the dice, take your chances.

Davo, he spoke of that after the game. He didn't want Utah to get into a defense. See Dr of Dunks post about "Rudy didn't mind the shot" or whatever.

One thing about Bullard is he has a very slow developing 3 point shot, and add to that he leans forward. It is hard to get him a shot in the closing seconds. He has to be more wide open than anyone else on the team. Really, the defense has to screw up for Bullard to get enough time to shoot. The easiest way to get Bullard the time to shoot that he requires, you pretty much have to start the play with someone who gets double-teamed anyways, and that's Mobley. But Mobley should just shoot if he gets his feet under him. It might look like a heave. But it is not. It is his natural shot. He has learned to shoot fast.

No one on this team shoots a better FAST 3 pointer than Mobley. Forget the stats, Mobley is the best 3 pointer on the team, imo. He never has the luxury of fully setting like Bullard and Shandon do. But imo, he is the best choice for shooting a fast 3 pointer. And in the last second, that is often all you are going to get. Shandon can't hit a fast 3. Bullard can't. Even Francis shoots slower than Mobley and his threes mainly coming from the defense backing off. In the last second, they don't back off Francis and he gets faced and can't get the shot off, from what I've seen.

Say what you want to, but in the last second Mobley can always get his feet under him and get the shot off. It is underrated how hard that is to do. Francis has not proven to me that he can get good shots for himself in the last minute.
