when is this? landry is signed through the 2011 season I think scola will be re-signed this offseason or the next. I do not think Landry will command so much money that the team will have to let him walk like that. Scola may command more money but he still has a good 5 years of solid contributing ball left in him. we are pretty set at the PF spot in the foreseeable future and I tip my hat to Morey and Co for that
Lol, the Spurs fans on their forumn are moping on this article. Hilarious, im so glad we have this guy on our team.
Scola is the Rocket's most consistent player this year for sure. You know excatly what you gonna get from him...All out hustle. We should sign this guy for life and make him a citizen of the US. `
Landry. If Landry gets to the point where he's going to command a starting job and starting salary, we'll have to let him go. Right now he's the perfect back up. He's not good enough to start on a good team, but he's a REALLY good back up. But Scola is the better player, lets be honest here. And if we can count on Scola to play 30-34 minutes a game, it shouldn't be too hard to find a competent back up. And honestly, Artest could take some of those minutes assuming we sign him back.
no doubt.. we're very lucky to have him.. he plays hard every possession and he's a smart player.. take that spurs!!
I often think this too, but I can't count Yao out just yet. I will tell you one thing though...Scola is catching up REAL QUICK. I could see Scola becoming a huge star on a team in which he is the focal point of the offense. The crazy part is he has done all of this only in his second year in the NBA and he just keeps getting better.
Yao should be the most unstoppable players in the league when he gets the ball. Even though he gets blocked, no one should be able to block him cause is really tall and has a really high release point, but I trust scola getting the ball beter because he has pretty good hands. However he can be stopped a little easier.
So someone from the SA media finally admits that they traded Scola to save a few bucks. Everything I'd read previously was about how they didn't think he would be a good fit next to Duncan, or that his ego might have been too big for that role. Of course, you would think that the Spurs would know first-hand what kind of players come out of Argentina.
