I was gonna start a new thread but figured it would fit in here: Interesting comments (and question) by Jack Ramsay. Trey (Memphis, TN): Thanks for the time, Doc. If you were coaching, and had your pick of the following three players, who would you take: Nachbar of Houston, Kirlienko of Utah, or Okur of Detroit? Dr. Jack Ramsay: I'm a big Kirilenko fan...He'll have a breakout season this year. The others aren't chopped liver either...But Kirilenko is special. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Apparently Dr. Jack likes what he sees in Boki.
I'm surprised they're such opposite viewpoints about Nachbar's game. I've been reading the guy's slow with no lateral movement and no defense for about a year now. Defensively he does look clumsy at times but give the guy some time. I was at the San Antonio game and saw him cause two offensive fouls hustling to get beat picks before they were set. The guy looks plenty quick to me, and I completely agree about his first-step. He covers a lot of ground quickly with it and it's a very deceptive quickness. I have to admit I was concerned about the rumors we were hearing about him for the last year. But he looks like a good 15th overall pick and hopefully can develop into an excellent one, it looks like he just needs PT.
