Looks like the Yotes get a sorely-needed 2 points... at the Hawks' expense. Oh well, at least they got 1. But they may need to win out for the Presidents' Trophy.
I believe they need 4 pts out of the possible 8 left in order to guarantee that, assuming Pittsburgh were to win out. Definitely doable with the teams remaining on the schedule. @ Canucks @ Oilers vs. Flames @ Blues
Corey Crawford was under siege for all 60 minutes. That was probably the worst performance from the defense all season, though. And that's including the horrendous 3rd periods against the Kings and Ducks last month. And yet, on Twitter, he's getting crucified. Is he the Jeremy Lin of Chicago sports? So... the President's Trophy race is now 73-70. Winning 2 of the last 3 should get them the trophy.
Yeah this was one game where Crawford was solid and actually kept the deficit from growing. They all looked lazy out there like they were uninspired and didn't really care for the game. The Edmonton and Calgary games should be W's but if they play like they did last night, I can't see them winning any of the 3 remaining.
Hawks and Oilers on pace for 50 goals. Not really, but considering how most of their games have gone in recent years...
The goalie is the starting pitcher or QB equivalent of a hockey team. Plus, the Hawks currently have the full attention of every fringe and casual fan that could ever manage to buy a Blackhawks T-shirt. It's inevitable that they'll be scrutinized from here on out.
I agree. I personally don't care for it all that much, but once Pittsburgh lost yesterday, it was over with. Hopefully that curse doesn't come to bite us.
