Anyone pre-ordered this title?

Limited Edition will have instant access to 3 cars: the Nissan Silvia spec.R Aero (S15), Alfa Romeo Giulietta QV, and Lamborghini Murciélago LP640. Also features cars and tracks from the gt series 1 & 3. I'm pumped for this game!

I've been waiting for game to rival Gran Turismo.

19th January 2011 - Back in April 2010 we were the first on the internet to disclose about the GT3 and GT1 license accusations by Need For Speed and now its official that Shift 2 unleashed will officially feature the GT3 and GT1 series. Back then we had speculated a 360 car list for the Shift 2 – though the reports were few and minimal, we were proved wrong by a big margin.

Officials at EA sports wanted to time the release of their full blown simulation - The Shift 2 Unleashed between the release of GT5 (Gran Turismo 5 for Playstation 3) and Forza 4 Motorsport (for the Xbox 360 console). So though the release of Shift 2 was planned initially for the end of 2011 the release was finalized by around 6 months before the initial plans so that they can fit in well between the release of the NFS Shift series biggest competitors the GT5 and Forza 4. Result – the initially targeted 360 cars are now officially just a 140, though we can expect to see some paid and free DLC coming along during the later months this year which are also supposed to have cars like the Zonda C9, Lamborghini Murceliago replacement and even the Ferrari 612 replacement amongst many others.

Below is the list of 140 cars that Need For Speed Shift 2 Unleashed will most probably have, though many amongst the list are already confirmed there are some that are not.

(*) in the car list Means – the car model will be same but different vinyl will be available to depict different official racing team cars with different numbers . Shift 2 is planned to be the pinnacle of all car simulator games ever released (including GT5 and Forza series) with licensed car details to the maximum bit and exact replication of their performances, from acceleration to braking and handling, all being tested by professional drivers who actually drive these stunning machines.

140 cars might sound low. But there is great verity and with no good steering wheel (controller) option for the Xbox 360 (forza series) and Suzuki Swift being a Premium car and Bugatti Veyron a Standard car in GT5 hope the 140 car list in Shift 2 Unleashed dosnt feel that bad either and availability on all platforms and 100 tracks to race on including the official GT3 and GT1 venues are great bonus.

dropped today. I just got it about to see how he plays. Getting good reviews. Anyone?

I still play GT5 now and again, but I've hit somewhat of a wall with it and would enjoy a bit of a change.

I'll have to rent it and give it a test drive (literally) on my simulator.
