I was hoping the Broncos would hire Vance Joseph and be stuck with him before he revealed himself as full turd. No such luck

    I know, right?

Phil/Jim devotes like 30 seconds to talking about what a hot candidate Vance Joseph is, then his defense immediately craps the bed.

    Priceless.

My goodness. This has to be the worst wild card weekend of all time. Trash game after trash game. Thank God the Texans won at least.

Nobody is playing at Aaron Rodgers level right now. Amazing.

Rogers has a knack for those Hail Marys, but the Giants are weak for allowing it. Three defenders right there and they all missed it.

Giants been shooting themselves in the door the entire game.

Unbelievable. Rodgers just turned on Madden Hail Mary mode. Never seen anyone do it like this so many times now.

If Jordy Nelson is OK, I expect the Packers to beat the Cowbody next week. If not, I dunno.

Yeah, I'm aware of his pedigree. His teams have two rings. But Eli never put NYG on his back and carried them to the promised land. Eli seems to be more Flacco than Rodgers. By that I mean he seems to be a product of opportunity. Great defenses and excellent coaching certainly played a large role in both rings. A glorified game manager, if you will. Maybe I'm wrong. He just never seems to go out and win games; he's never the key reason NYG wins.

    In 2008 NYG scored 24, 21, 23, and 17 points in the playoffs (and gave up 14, 17, 20, and 14, respectively). In 2011, NYG scored 24, 37, 20, and 21 points (and gave up 2, 20, 17, and 17 points, respectively).

My point is hopefully Brock can be our Eli. I don't think he will. But if Brock can not screw up (huge if), and ride an elite defense, then he can game-manage his way into a ring, just like Eli has.

You are on the right track. Another aspect of Eli in those two runs is he was clutch. Amazingly so.

I don't think Brock can be the Texans version of Eli, but we can hope.
