Would they have scored a TD if the flag wasn't picked up? The Lions' O was dreadful in the 2nd half. Give them a FG and the Cowboys would still have won.
Yeah he's going to be 30 next year and Suh will probably be gone. This may have been his best chance.
Well Lions still had a chance to win didn't they? Well, actually 2. Cowboys gave them another chance after fumbling a recovered fumble.
You should mention that Dallas's game-winning TD drive was extended by multiple flags and multiple missed offensive holding calls.
Was rooting for the Cowboys to lose but bad calls aside this loss was on the Lions offense. They completely stunk in the 2nd half
legitimate like how dez ran onto the field to argue the call and not get a 15 yd unsportsmanlike conduct?
you are correct, but you do not let it come to that situation at all. the refs have too much decision in the outcome of the game. let's also ignore blatant offensive holding calls on the ensuing dallas drive too. yes they played horrible in the second half, but looked decent on that drive there. however, there was no way the lions were winning that game after the picked up flag. it's one thing to not call a penalty, but then to pick a flag after it's been called? without any explanation? c'mon man.
Cowboys are the better team and they moved on. That was a bad call by the refs, and I didn't agree with them picking it up either. But Cowboys are the better team. That call didn't decide the game entirely, or shift any type of momentum. Cowboys were gaining them as the first half ended. Lions had plenty of chances throughout the game to prove they were the better team. They blew them.
it's true we should have gotten an explanation on why the flag was picked up. i agree there. but, don't sit here and tell me the refs decided this game. detroit just flat out made critical mistakes that cost them the game, including a muffed punt, not electing to go for it on 4th and 1 instead taking a delay of game, giving up two key fourth down plays to cowboys that basically won the cowboys the game, and basically losing the line of scrimmage offensively in the second half while playing atrocious defense in the secondary...with poor o-line play resulting in a final two sack/fumbles by Stafford. if that is the refs deciding the game, then i don't agree with you. detroit lost this game. there were some missed calls on both sides...and there always is...every game. also, who was guarding johnson most of the game? carr? he was practically a non-factor the whole game. detroit can't have that and win.
