Trent Richardson was such a terrible trade for them. I remember when everyone thought it would propel the Colts into Super Bowl Contenders. Wow...Alex Smith looking like Aaron Rodgers out here.
This really caught me off guard. I don't think much of either team, but I figured the Chiefs were on a steeper decline than the Colts. KC came out crisp, fresh, prepared and ready to go. The Colts just weren't ready for them. Besides Alex Smith playing like a boss and blowing away Andrew Luck, Andy Reid is way ahead of Chuck Pagano. Their most important player goes down on the 6th play of the game and it didn't even phase them. Maybe the Colts should have kept Bruce Arians.
Looks like the Chiefs made a mistake by resting those starters last week... they totally look sluggish out there and had zero momentum heading into the post-season.... (wink emoticon)
I'm a Luck fan but he's still inconsistent. For a former high school valedictorian and Stanford graduate he really makes the dumbest decisions sometimes
Or the Colts came in thinking the Chiefs would run the same game plan they did 2 weeks ago (when the Chiefs were hammered by the Colts at Arrowhead). Andy Reid had this team ready to play today... and obviously tinkered the offense to correct some of the mistakes that they made against Indy in the previous matchup.
Not everyone said that. Some of us blasted the move as stupid. Regarding Luck, too many people put him way too high on the totem pole when the Colts were 6-2. Following Peyton Manning and making the playoffs last year raised expectations to nonsense levels. He just isn't there yet and still needs more seasoning.
I'm sure they do... its the only national NFL game they call together all year, and Hicks is gunning to take over for Al Michaels when he finally retires. They want it to be a good one, and they're guaranteed a better lead-in audience to the night game if it is.
As wildly inconsistent Andrew Luck is, you can not count him out of a game. The guy is remarkably clutch.
