indy gives up a 3rd and 11 screen and then gets a once in a blue moon defensive holding on a play that would have set up 3rd and about 9. looks like SD is taking this one. and now a ridiculously lucky fumble recovery in the middle of 3 colts and an intentional grounding they barely get away with b/c the RB was sorta close. this is the ugliest game winning drive ever. nfl apparently trying to make up for the hochuli incident with these calls. maybe a "hitting too hard" penalty for that tackle on sproles could be called.
not watching the game but My friend giving me play by play thinks the Colts are getting jobbed on the Defensive holding calls Is that right? Rocket River
this is a lot better than college football. mediocre 8-8 teams getting into the postseason and taking homefield over 12-4 teams. really makes those first 16 games mean something.
Which call wasn't right? Both defensive holding calls were absolutely right and would have affected the Chargers' ability to complete their play. The facemask was right as well.
Some of the calls were pretty legit (like the facemask call.) A couple of iffy calls, but nothing too horrible from what I saw. Regardless, it's painful to see the referees take over the game in this manner in OT. My lesson learned- this is why I don't bet on the NFL! I liked all four road teams going into the start of the playoffs. So far? Two games, both home teams win.....
It was pretty close. I mean, the defender was holding, but it's hard to tell if the ball was actually in the air or not. And little Sproles wins the game. Man, the 2003 Sooners know how you feel, Indy.
Darren Sproles was one of my favorite college players ever, glad to see he make himself a few million dollars today.
The Chargers should have never been allowed to host this game in their backyard. American football's postseason matchup pairings are ass backyards, college and pro. Too bad for the Colts.
Defensive holding always occurs before the ball is in the air. If the ball was in the air, it would have been pass interference and it would have been a much bigger penalty than the 5 yarder.
If it had been in the air it would have been pass interference. Colts defense collapsed at the end. WTF was Sessions thinking with that facemask.
I thought they were within 5 yards of the line of scrimmage. Ah well, don't really care anyway. i didn't have any rooting interest.
