first game, and u can tell he's really not in sync w/ his receivers. 3 of the 4 INTs weren't his fault (the receivers either stopped running their routes or didn't know what they were doing). though i doubt it will improve b/c chicago's receivers are subpar. but cutler will get better. he was MUCH better in the 2nd half.
What a wild opening sunday. Happy my Cowboys O played well, but worried about the D. Very disappointed in the Texans in all aspects of the game. WOW. Owned by the rookie QB at home and not able to run or pass the ball at all. Ouch I was expecting more. I can't wait to watch both games again at home with sound so I can really see what happened since I was at the bar so I could watch both games at the same time. Still a long season to play. Go Cowboys Go Texans!!!
Do you think brees should have been given the chance to tie the record for TD passes in a game or was Payton's sportsmanship paramount? I can see it going both ways. On one hand, you have a chance to match a record that has not been done in 40 years but on the other hand you've beat the other team so there is no need to continually beat them. What do you think?
This is not amateur or college sports. You go 100% until it becomes more beneficial to back off (i.e. risk of hurting players outweighs gains from playing time/experience in said game)
It don't think it was Cutlers' fault that they lost. Their receivers just aren't up to what Cutler is used to. If their receivers can run better routes, Bears would've won. But kudos to Packers' defense (I have them on my fantasy team ) That's the thing though.... people naturally put the win/loss record on the quarterback, but a lot of the times it's on the whole team. Take the Texans, people are CALLING for Schaub's head after yesterday's loss, but if you watched the game, you can see that 1. Schaub had maybe 2 seconds to throw before he gets knocked down on his back and 2. there was no Kevin Walter to take away Andre's double coverage. Schaub seldom made mistakes except for a couple of inaccurate throws, but that game was lost because of poor pass and run blocking by the offensive line.
The same thing was said about Brian Dawkins and Stewart Bradley of the Eagles and look what that defense did yesterday against arguably the best running back duo in the league, one of the best receivers in the league, and a top-notch offensive line.
Not to mention a new Defensive Coordinator. Them boys looked pretty good, hopefully McNabb is ok. Get that Desean Jackson kid the ball and good things happen.
Yeah, I forgot about McDermott. I was and am still kind of worried about him but he had a great coming out party. If I were the Eagles brass, I would sit McNabb until after the bye (Week 4). Their next two games are New Orleans and Kansas City, both at home and both winnable without McNabb. While New Orleans offense is fantastic, their defense is not a mirror image as they gave up 27 to a rookie QB led Lions team and Kansas City is pretty young on defense and gave up 38 to Baltimore, who is definitely not known for offense. Kolb absolutely makes me want to puke when he is out there and I think they should have shed him instead of Feeley. Vick will be back for the KC game so expect plenty of drama then but even more if McNabb does not play or is playing uncomfortably. I was low on Jackson when the Eagles drafted him last year and I remember you saying he would surprise and how right your are. I think he is going to become one of the top offensive talents in the NFC this year, if not the league.
