You're telling me this? I still hear people talking up Bailey, he isn't anything near shutdown status.
It certainly does suck having a bad punter. Early Texans days you'd always hear some disappointing remark from the commentary during a Chad Stanley punt.
Not talking about commentators per se, but plenty of average football fans who are uneducated about the game still think he's the best CB in the game and know nothing about Nnamdi Asomugha and Darrelle Revis. Its the same people who elected Antonio Cromartie to the Pro Bowl because had all those interceptions. Interceptions is such a worthless stat when it comes to defensive backs.
That is exactly why I love him. His ability to throw on the run is the best in the National Football League.
I think he's a good CB, but he's not a pure shutdown CB. Revis is scary good, and still only in his 3rd year.
I almost feel bad for Kyle Orton. I mean, I've know for a while that he can't throw but he was BADLY exposed this game. That dunk-and-dunk stuff only gets you so far. Eventually you find yourself in a situation like this where you absolutely MUST take a shot or two downfield and your QB is unable to do that.
Revis leads the cornerbacks of the future. Vontae Davis, Jabari Greer and Michael Jenkins (DAL) also look promising.
Don't forget Jonathan Joseph in Cinci. He's had a great year. Check this article from last season where an insider ranked the Top 50 CBs based on some interesting stats. http://www.operationsports.com/forums/pro-football/289299-top-50-cbs-nfl.html Shows you how truly bad Cromartie was last season, and also you'll be surprised at some big names who didn't even make the Top 50.
