I thought about working in the Texans at 10, they're definitely close. We'll see how the Eagles fare tonight...

I wouldn't quite put the Eagles in the top 10 because of last week's showing. The Saints loss keeps looking better, if you can say that, because they keep winning and finding ways to win but that Raiders loss will continue to look horrible if they keep getting beat like that. Maybe that Raiders loss is that one game a good team needs to lose to get that kick in the butt to wake up, think Giants vs. Browns last year on MNF. I think a lot of it has to do with coaching.

Because watching the Redskins play is deppressing and the way Philly played Oakland last week... It's a probable snoresfest.

    I may be wrong though.

Why would 3 'close' games on the road w/out our best defensive player concern me as a Steeler fan? Thanks for the concern on my behalf though.

What kind of stats do you need for a 'dominating' victory?

    Would...
time of possession: 34:42 to 25:18
    total yards: 373 to 273

be dominating enough? Because the steelers lost that game to the bengals.

and they won vs. the vikings with...
    23:02 to 36:58
    259 to 386

or is it something you feel in your guts, a la colbert?

If Reid didn't panic so much and just go to throw-throw-throw-throw-throw playing calling it might not be such a bad game. You know I'll be watching of course. :)

Anytime football is on, I'll watch it.

I hope your defense sucks today. Sorry I can't let them get more than 7 points. :p

Eh, I'm a big believer in Peyton, but I don't think they've really proven anything yet.

Their next 5 games, they play San Fran, New England, Baltimore, and Houston twice.

If they fare well through those games, I'll consider putting them higher.

Agreed. That's why I ranked them 2nd behind the Saints. They've stayed unbeaten without their #2 Wide Receiver and best defensive player in Bob Sanders. Peyton Manning IS that GOOD.

Bob Sanders is not better than Dwight Freeney. He had one awesome year, hasn't stayed on the field since.

And I don't think there is much of a drop off from Gonzalez to Collie/Garcon, etc.

As long as Peyton has Wayne and Clark out there, thats enough.

Dude they are playing the Redskins. A zero confidence Campbell, a RB on a bum ankle, and their playcaller is coming straight from the Bingo Hall to the sidelines.

They just lost to the Raiders...

    Isn't Dwight injured too?

Robert Mathis is the Colts best defensive player.

they need to poll the LA football fans to see which team they want there.

Mathis is more consistent probably, but Freeney is still one of the most feared edge-rushers in the league and defenses have to chip at him constantly which frees up Mathis.

Umm, Robert Mathis is good because Dwight draws double and triple teams. Think Kyle Vanden Bosch without Albert Haynesworth.

I think they compliment each other. I just say Mathis because he hasn't been injured as frequently.

Scoreboard. I want to see them beat the Browns by more than 13 points. I want them to not need two missed field goals and go to OT to beat the Titans. They need to beat Denver and Cincy in the next two weeks if they want to show they are among the top 2 teams in the AFC.

Yup, its a classic case of a good defender benefiting from the attention of the defense being focused elsewhere.
