Week 6 studs Matt Hasselbeck 300+ yards/ 3+ Td's LT 100+ yards/ 2+ Td's Jeremy Shockey 5+ catches/ 80 + yds/ 2 td's Yes they're on my team.
Yep he bought some, the bengals bought some back and so did a couple of local businesses. Thank goodness! I hate blackouts.. they are fundamentally wrong. Chad is also going to buy me a ticket to the movies tonight if I get down to the levy before he gets his crew together.
I remember the Food Bank days' long lines of holding my grocery bags to get Oilers' tickets. Good luck, Ms. 'Fan.
Ocho Cinco is my favorite player outside of any Texans player. Him being one of my fantasy steals makes it that much better.
but it's all about the team. they played their hearts out against the Ravens..still very surprising to me..
Oh the fans cheer for the team, but there's a lot of people who just won't pay to watch the game at the stadium... plus it's almost 70,000 seats which are typically at the minimum 64 dollars a pop. They are giving away 1200 tickets to this game... that's it. So figure they sold millions of dollars worth of tickets for the game... and were going to black it out to three states for thousands of dollars worth of tickets. That's just part of what's fundamentally wrong about it. Not to mention, because our owner is cheap we have very few scouts, no GM, etc... it's just a poorly run business and a lot of people in Cincinnati aren't going to pay 70 bucks or more a ticket to support that. Not to mention city taxes paid a hefty sum for a stadium that a lot of people, including me, can't afford to go to, even if we sit so high up in the 60 buck seats that the players look like ants to squash and we are watching it on the screens instead. Might as well be at home watching it in warmth and cheering with the friends you invite over to watch the big screen. Can you tell this is a sore subject in town? The team is winning despite ownership... we can support that... I personally just won't support the owner by buying the tickets to help him sleep at night thinking he's doing a fine job.
Isn't Mike Brown the "poorest" owner in the NFL? Not to justify his cheapness over the years, but he hasn't made a giant fortune outside the NFL. The Bengals ARE the family business, period. Therefore he runs the Bengals a little different than most NFL teams.
Nobody who doesn't have Al Davis as an owner should be complaining right now. I don't think I've seen a larger group of people who wanted somebody dead and nobody really thought they were wrong for feeling that way.
Tony lost this week. Valerie Bertinelli, of all the people, made a comment...in discussing Jessica Simpson's weight issue...that the supposed bad luck Jessica brought Tony is not to blame cause "he still sucks". Then, she tries to backtrack. lol. She is one to bash after her track record. Pretty funny. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=doC4G24dOts For those keeping score...Valerie is +1 on the "exceeds expectations" front...which makes the score: Valerie: -499 (up from -500 after +1 win) Tony Romo: -20 (down from -19 after -1 loss)
http://news.cincinnati.com/article/20090424/SPT02/304240022 There are links there to other stuff, since I have no idea what other owners make, I can only go off the information about Mike Brown and his paying himself millions of dollars to be his own GM.
We play at 8:30 against the Bears. I'll probably just turn to CBS for the 1:00 game so I can watch the Ravens/Vikings game.
