That was such a senseless loss for Carolina. Wow. 1-4 and 3 games behind Atlanta. Happy for Aguayo. tmactoyao, hopefully this is a turning point.
I wouldn't say that. Teddy and Russ have two of the best coaches in the league. Kap had Harbaugh. Rivera is decent, not terrible. RG3 would have had Hue Jackson this year, who I also think is decent (though his track record is tarnished due to coaching trash teams). Koetter is not a good HC though. Played not to lose and got lucky the refs called that VJax reception out of bounds and the face mask at the end. Very fortunate to get that face mask. Feel like he would've missed a 53 yard FG and hurt his confidence even more.
Carolina is *getting* what they deserve. To me, their defense was good, last year. Definitely, not great or an eraser defense, like the Ravens or Broncos. It needed some in improvements, especially in secondary. Josh Norman would've been expensive, but he did say he would've taken a "home-town" discount." It doesn't seem like they put any type of effort in keeping him. Which is kinda stupid, when they are in a conference that is littered with dominant #1 receivers (Julio Jones, Dez, Beckham, Nelson/Cobb, and Jeffery). They did not try to get better on offense at all. They were going to get Kelvin Benjamin, back. But, still they the receivers that came had last year were very mediocre. He was working alot of wonders in that offense. They needed to get a position receiver and a guy who could be reliable on 3rd down and in late in the fourth quarter. Cam has been getting roughed up as well, both his fault and some on the offensive line. I had them making playoffs at, like 11-5 or 10-6, which is doable. I think they will be a better second half team, though I don't see back in the Super Bowl, unless Cam plays out of his mind again. Still, it's weird, even with all of their issues, I could see them beating Atlanta or Minnesota in a playoff game on the road. Those teams are playing fantastic, right now. But, they both are ripe for January upset.
