I benched DJax and started Mark Clayton. FAIL Oh, and saddest moment in 49ers franchise history? <object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/mV8sRibDYds?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/mV8sRibDYds?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object>
SF just can not get over the hump. For a team with now wins, they are still pretty good at times. On to the next one....Vikings-Jets tomorrow. Moss-Favre.
I'm not sure if it is that but Vick is a lot more mobile than Kolb and I would even say McNabb is too. That opens the field a bit more. Kolb is mobile, as he showed a few times during last night's game but he doesn't have the mobility and pocket presence those two have.
The announcers last night were harping on how important it is for Philly's QB to be as slippery as a bar of soap with their OL problems. I tend to agree. Kevin can run a reasonable bootleg, but when it comes to abandoning the pocket, he's just totally screwed compared to Donny/Mike.
Most definitely, their offensive line is pretty much just glued together to form a semblance of an NFL line and it may be the worst in the league. The Jason Peters trade and the huge deal he got (he is the highest paid offensive lineman in the game) look to be overly disappointing and that is being nice. It is going to catch up with them sooner or later, if it already hasn't now. The Eagles have benefited by playing some pretty mediocre teams so far but their remaining schedule is rather brutal not to mention they go against some of the top-tier pass rushers as well. Clay Matthews ate them up the first week and had a big part of Kolb losing his job and they really haven't faced a big time threat like him since. Look at their schedule though and they have to face Tuck and Umenyiora twice, Ware twice, Mario Williams, Freeney and Mathis, Jared Allen and Peppers. It's going to get a lot harder before it gets any easier.
I'm gonna hate to see Singletary get fired, he was a great player, but that act does not translate to coaching. I was surprised they did as well as they did last season.
49ers remind me a lot of the Texans 2-14 season. A lot of hope/hype going into the season, and a really competitive team when they show up ... but they just can't find ways to win games.
Gradkowski had his arm grabbed but the ball wasn't jarred loose and he clearly threw it forward. Rivers had the ball hit at the exact same moment his arm was about to begin the forward motion. I still don't know how the **** they won that game, Malcolm Floyd looked like Jerry Rice out there vs Johnson/Routt.
