    So true. He is amazing.

Ginn's drop in the end zone was pathetic. The way he reversed his hands, there was no way he could have made the catch. That was the game right there.

They had 3 and a half minutes to get down the field and they ran the ****ing ball 3 times and had the sense of urgency of a Grandma in a Hyundai.

Random thought, but it never ceases to amaze me how quarterbacks can be a split second late and just barely miss the two minute warning (as Pennington did) - even after they clearly make one hell of an effort to get off the play. Just look up at the freaking enormous clock, dip****, and snap it at 2:01 or earlier instead of micromanaging it and going for the 1 in 100 chance of making someone jump. This isn't rocket science.

Its a ball control offense, and Pennington is not a no-huddle QB, he's a game manager.

Still, that was pretty awful for a seasoned vet with playoff experience.

Ronnie Brown is awesome..10 pts down coming in and he got me 18.8!

Amazing how easy it looks to run when there are holes to run through. I've almost forgotten watching the Texans.

Man, Manning is CLUTCH. Right now, seeing the troubles Brady's had, he's the QB I want on the field down by 3 or 7 with less than three minutes left in the game. So poised and in control.

I should probably preface my remarks by saying that I missed tonight's game (sounded like a thriller), but some of these responses here are cracking me up. Particularly, the "clutch" comments in regards to Peyton. Aside from winning SB XLI, he had earned himself QUITE the reputation as a choker that couldn't win the big games. Now, all of a sudden he leads a seemingly impressive comeback drive in the 4th quarter and people are completely brainwashed to the point where they rank him ahead of Brady, Ben and Eli in terms of clutch play or who would you want leading a game-deciding drive in the 4th quarter.

I'm sorry, I just can't agree with this insanity. Feel free to call me a hater. Peyton is easily one of the greatest QB's ever and I hope he breaks all of Favre's records. I just can't get over his reputation as predominately just a great regular season QB and an average postseason QB.

he's the best QB of this generation BY FAR. sucks brady will have that b/c of his rings (which should be attributed moreso to the defense and the hated billichick). hell at this rate, ben roth might eclipse peyton if he wins a few more rings (again, b/c of the steelers' D).

peyton controls so much of indy's offense (he's like the offensive coordinator for god sakes) that it's amazing just to watch him even before the ball is snapped.

you need a great defense to win superbowls. the year indy won it, their defense was much better than before (due to dungy). and peyton still got his stats. indy's defense sucks again tonight, but peyton bailed them out (like he has done so many times). and usually when the playoffs rolls around, that won't happen (that's why he only has one ring).

to you, ben roth must be a great QB then, a QB with an 80.1 ratings the year he won a championship.

Big Ben isn't a good QB. He is downright sloppy. But he is a great football player and finds a way to win. The Vince Young of the NFL. Can't look at QB rating with a guy like BB.

i'm not saying he's a bad QB, but i bet you if he wins a few more rings (primarily due to the steelers' D and running game), he'll be hailed like tom brady (who i think is more deserving b/c tom brady is actually great). that'll really piss me off. you can also put eli manning in that "overrated b/c he won a ring due to the great defense" category (again, not saying he's a bad QB).

big ben finds ways to win b/c his defense keeps him in position to win. that's what a great defense does: it can buy an offense time (a lot of it). i mean, any good QB can eventually do some things if his defense keeps buying him time (ala ben/eli).

peyton rarely has that luxury, maybe outside of 2 years under the dungy era (where the defense was respectable--never truly great). he HAS to make plays for his teams a lot of the times or else they'll lose. he's basically an offensive coordinator on the field. he calls alot of the plays anyways.

and i don't even jock peyton that much. sadly, my favorite QB is jay cutler (and dude makes his own shares of mistakes b/c of his gunner personality). but peyton is just that good. every QB should watch how peyton controls a game.

you add peyton with a billichick's defense, it's basically a SB win every year until peyton retires (from his 2nd year in the L on).

How does the Colt's lack of a great defense explain Peyton's noticeable drop in performance from regular season to postseason? I know I am going to get called a hater for saying this but I really don't think it's a stretch to say that he's been rather unimpressive in the postseason. God help him if he didn't win SB XLI -- people would actually notice this disparity.

As for Ben, I know that he was horrible in SB XL. He wasn't up to that point, though. It was also his second year in the league. It took Peyton something like six years and four tries to win a playoff game -- let alone a Super Bowl.

Ziggy is about to get pimp slapped with that remark about Ben not being a "good QB". His career passer rating is in the all-time top ten. Oh, the irony. :p Does he win ugly? Absolutely. But does he win.....?

If you saw the game you'd know what we were talking about. He had to lead a game winning drive, and he did in 30 seconds what Chad Pennington would have needed about 6 minutes to do.

As far as Big Ben goes, he's one of the grittiest QBs in the league and I admire him immensely for his ability to get the job done in the clutch after getting slammed to the turf time and time again, but Peyton Manning is the smartest QB of this generation, he picks you apart before the ball is even snapped.

    Two words: Bill Bilicheck

Peyton would have a couple of more rings if it wasn't for New England's defense in those playoffs where the Colts were essentially shut down. That was back when the Patriots had the personel to play lights out D.

Manning has a career postseason QB rating of 85 - not bad, not great - but has been over 90 for 5 of the past 6 years, with the sixth being the Superbowl year. Three of those years were above 95, and two were above 105. He certainly struggled early in his postseason career, but he's been good-to-great since 2003. And that's been against the generally the best teams in the AFC.

exactly. billichick is the person that has stopped peyton from wining all those rings. bill is arguably one of the greatest coaches, if not the greatest, in NFL history (and i hate his guts b/c of what happened to the raiders).

you can see he usually struggles v. billichicks' defense (until he solved it when he won the ring - primarily b/c he didn't have the players he used to for his defense)

if u truly watch the steelers, ben is a glorified game manager. b/c of their defense and running game, you rarely see ben having to win games with his arm.

BTW, sour grapes speaking here... but that Jacoby Jones catch being called a TD after what happened to the Raiders on Monday Night made me blow a gasket.

I had to hear all week from various news outlets why Raider fans are just being whiny b****es who don't understand the NFL rulebook, when apparently the NFL officials are the ones who don't.

You officially just killed your credibility in a new sport. The Steelers running game has been complete garbage since 2007 (both regular season and playoffs) yet he still won a SB. Your comment about him "rarely" having to win games with his arm is probably one of the the dumbest things I have ever heard. I guess the six comeback drives that he led last year during the regular season and arguably the greatest drive in SB history was all by accident.

I realize this is a fantasy football driven society where QB's that don't throw for 4,000 yards a year aren't considered elite for whatever reason, but let's at least try to make some sense here.
