If you read the last comments in the OP link, someone mentions that they called DirecTV and was told it would be available this coming Tues Sep 6.
I love the NFL, but I would never, never consider getting Sunday Ticket. There are simply too many games going on at one time to make it worth it to me. During the early time slot, I'll be watching the Texans anyway. I'd only be flipping around during commercials and halftime. That would leave me with just the late time slot to actually use the subscription for its intended purpose. I'm much more likely to buy League Pass or Extra Innings because the sheer number of games is just so much bigger.
I probably wouldn't get it either if I were living at home. This is the only way for me to watch the Texans.
just an update: With DISH Network, I tried the whole threatening to cancel ordeal.... (trying to get Redzone free) They told me if I upgraded to a higher package ($5 more a month), that the upgraded package is the lowest package they can add the "sports pack" to, that they would give me the sports pack (NFL Redzone, NBA TV, MLB TV, NFL TV, and 30 regional sports networks) (i watched like 25 out of market NCAA football games yesterday) So I'm paying $5 extra a month to get a $7 a month package for free. I guess this is somewhat of a deal.
Well technically.... ok so for $5, Im getting alot of channels I wanted. Over 30 out of market sports channels, NFL/NBA/MLB tv, NFL redzone, ect... Between this and having ESPN3, I should be able to see every game I want to see.
It's out today <object classid="clsid27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" width="437" height="288" id="viddler_628e4af9"><param name="movie" value="http://www.viddler.com/player/628e4af9/" /><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always" /><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /><embed src="http://www.viddler.com/player/628e4af9/" width="437" height="288" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowScriptAccess="always" allowFullScreen="true" name="viddler_628e4af9"></embed></object>
Some how we managed to get ST free on direct tv. They gave it to us as an anniversary present. (we've only been with them for 1 year). LOL. But, I'll take it!
My GF moved down to Houston, and I gave her the direct tv for her and her roommate to use. When they arrived to hook it up, they decided to give it to us for free. Might be because there were 2 blonde chicks at the house....... Sad thing is, I don't have it with me. So I'm buying a slingbox pro hd to watch it here lol. Seemed like they were just giving them away when we got it.
ST? Must have been about 2 weeks or so ago, maybe 3. Wondering if I'm able to watch it on my ps3? http://blog.us.playstation.com/2011/08/17/directv-and-playstation-bring-nfl-sunday-ticket-to-ps3/ Would save money from getting the slingbox.
Me trying to activate it on a friend's PS3, you have to buy the additional "Sunday Ticket To-Go" for an additional $50 (or 5 payments of 9.95) Downloaded the app on the PS3. Its telling us we have to log into my directv.com online account with my username and password. Its obviously how to authenticate the app. Haven't gotten the To-Go yet so it won't progress any further. But DTV site says you can access it on different PS3s just there's a limit on number of log-ins. The To-Go apps are for watching it on the computer, cell phones, tablets, etc. This year they're adding the functionality to the PS3. (They're not marketing is as "Sunday Ticket To-Go on PS3" but thats essentially what it is, a beefed up version.) (If they JUST got directv and if you haven't done it already, they can use the DTV referral program saying another DTV user referred them (such as...myself perhaps ) and BOTH people can get an extra $100 in DTV credits, That can pay for the NFL To-Go but you can use any DTV user's info)
Just tested it out on my PS3, and my Xoom. Works great on both. Of course there is nothing to watch yet, but the app is sweet. Not going to need that slingbox after all, unless I want to drop my cable I have here and use that instead. Might do that to save some $$. I don't really watch tv anyways. Veetle App for android is all I need....and now this free sunday ticket.
