That's nothing!!!! 4 games? 1 mill pocket change. Ooh not like they draft early in the first round anyway.

Not harsh enough on Brady, but harsher than I would have been on the organization.

And light penalties like this are the reason they'll keep cheating whenever they see fit.

Pleasantly surprised. I thought they'd just suspend him for a game.

Man I so wish the nfl would get a wakeup call, they did the absolute minimum to brady and the pats that they thought "fans" would accept.

That's why I hate goodell, I hate the nfl and I hate football in general.

you guys are probably used to NBA drafts but any 1st rd picks are valuable and there are still great players available. that's pretty harsh on the Patriots but they did win the Super Bowl so I'm sure NE will take that trade off

Exactly, I'm surprised so many of you think this is a light punishment

Should have suspended him for the Super Bowl if not take away the championship and force them to vacate it.

Probably not a coincidence that they play the Colts in the fifth game of the season on national TV - gotta have the golden boy back for that game.

Then again as a Texans fan I'm ok with Brady being ready for the Colts

Oh ok, i think I get it

Some folks are looking at the fine + suspensions + draft picks as a whole (me), while others are just looking at what affects Brady specifically (suspension + fine)

In that case, i think Brady got off pretty light. A 1st rd pick is no joke, though

Nothing? 4 games in the NFL is equivalent to a 20 game NBA suspension (reserved for the worst offenders) or a 41 game suspension in baseball (reserves for those who fail drug tests).

Given the lack of tangible evidence, no admission of guilt, and Brady being a first time offender who is one of the leagues' poster child's, playing its most glamorous and marketable position.... This could be the most noteworthy and controversial suspension in NFL (if not sports) history.
