Congrats to my Titans on a great season. Making the playoffs when you were predicted to be last in the AFC South after the loss of Pacman Jones was an astounding accomplishment. Big decisions this offseason. Haynesworth. WRs need to be picked up. Perhaps changing the offense back to the 06 version to let VY use his instincts more and run the ball. Regardless - excellent effort today.
You're right. The other team has no problem catching Vince's passes, so at a minimum his own receivers should be doing a better job.
LOL! Stop it dude you're killing me here! Well, in money time the t*** flopped when it counted most. Yep, just like the Oilers!
Anyone that saw this game knows VY did not lose the game or win the game. It was bironas fg miss and especially Chris Brown fumble and haynesworth 15 yard penalty. And then the LT call was just ridiculous. I mean you cannot let the play continue and allow the guys from the back of the pile push him forward. This was just terrible. LT couldn't even move, if that isn't forward progress being stopped I don't know what is. At any rate, the titans needed to play perfect to beat the chargers and that didnt happen. Great season Tennessee!
Great weekend of football action- misjudged the Seahawks home field advantage so I was 3/4 with my picks. Next weekend's games are going to be tremendous. Saturday - Seattle at Green Bay 3:30 on FOX Jacksonville at New England 7:00 on CBS Sunday - San Diego at Indianapolis 12:00 on CBS New York Giants at Dallas 3:30 on FOX

Nice offensive output by Vince Code: Passing CP/AT YDS TD INT V. Young 16/29 138 0 1 6pts for team My boy LT didn't have much of a game, though he did have that awesome 2nd effort TD late. Tenn has a great Defense, it's what has carried them all season. Here's to next week....GO CHARGERS!
Concensus is that LT made a good 2nd effort. I can guarantee you if LT sticks it out and the Titans strip him and return the fumble for a TD there would have been no forward progress stopped whines. VY showed at the end why he doesnt throw the ball over the middle of the field further than 15 yards. He keeps to the sidelines/flats shallow crossings for a reason.
the irony is that every Titans win this year, the opponent never scored more than 17 points, except when it was against the Texans.
Nice season, Titans, but I agree that there is work to do in the offseason. The good news is that they are in tremendous cap shape. It'll be interesting to see if Haynesworth sticks around or if he leaves for some ultra-massive payday somewhere else. WR has to be a priority in the offseason. Secondary might be worth a look, too, depending on what happens with Pac Man. If he can get his crap together, he can be extremely valuable both on D and in special teams. He's a hell of a player- too bad he's also such a basketcase off the field. It doesn't seem like a great draft for wr's. Any good ones out there in free agency? And yeah, Vince didn't have the best year. I'm not going to pretend that he did. But it bothers me that he's gone away from the run so much. I felt like in the second half, the Chargers didn't have to respect his scrambling at all. Maybe the injury was bothering him- who knows. Regardless, I was amazed they made the playoffs this year, and I'll be curious to see how they try to build on that for next season. Lots of room to improve, but they certainly seem like they have some reasonable methods for improvement via free agency and draft.
I agree that his receivers aren't great, but I saw A LOT of crappy passes today from Vince (overthrown, behind the receiver, not thrown hard enough, etc.). Sure, the weather wasn't great, but c'mon, it's the playoffs. Vince usually steps up his game and shines on the national stage, but today, he just didn't get it done. Now for some grade A troll bait: VY's playoff record: 0-1
The biggest question for the Titans is how long do they give Vince the benefit of the doubt? Do they go ahead and take another QB in the 3rd or 4th round? Vince is starting to show the signs that many predicted beforehand: the inability of running quarterbacks to stay healthy in the NFL. The guy has been reduced to a drop back passer, and a crappy one at that.
I will give him the benefit of the doubt with his receivers being garbage.....for now. Let's not forget, Donovan McNabb is a running quarterback who had/has some pretty crappy receivers, except in 2004, and he has still been successful.
Saw the same argument for Michael Vick(Young's most similar style comparison) when he struggled in the passing game in his first couple years. The throws I saw today, and the catches made by his receivers/backs/TEs, changing the names to Faulk, Harrison, Rice, Gates, or whoever would not have made much difference. In fact, his backs made some very Marshall Faulk like plays on screens and runs where they got big gains after being seemingly stopped. San Diego attacked Vince Young. But they did so in a controlled manner with their ends keeping contain on Vince so he could not get to the outside. Same way you used to combat John Elway, Steve Young, Randall Cunningham, and all the old school mobile QBs. Something USC and Michigan did not do in those college bowl games.
Actually, if the Titans involve his legs a bit more, he wont last at all in the league. He will get too beat up. I just dont think its something that you can turn on for the play-off game(as seen today).
