Today was a good day. The Who Dat parade got shut down early, and I got to watch Peyton Manning suffer heartbreak in 54 seconds. And that Marshawn Lynch run -- that was all kinds of awesome. Especially the stiff arm to Porter. Beautiful.
Yea thank god the saints are out. Now I don't have to see all those Saints flags on the freeway from those transplants.
I hate the jets but now their win means that we get 2nd round pick instead of a 3rd due to the Cromartie trade. Go pats.
As opposed to Manning only having one ring in two or three playoff appearances? Manning took a lot of teams that had no business being anywhere near .500 to the playoffs. Think of the crew he had on the field today.
I doubt it. Sanchez was exposed in this game as a below-average quarterback. He missed too many throws that an NFL quarterback has no business missing. No pressure, easy backfield checkdowns. Overthrew multiple long bombs that should have gone the distance. The pick he threw was inexcusable -- Dustin Keller was wide open for the TD for like 10 seconds, and then he finally threw it when he had run all the way across the field into double coverage. Ridiculous. Bad quarterback is bad. The Jets running game and defense won this game for them, as I expected. They won in spite of Sanchez. If they actually had a good NFL quarterback under center, this game would not have been close.
His game management is TERRIBLE. he's an idiot when it comes to challenging. He can't coach defense. It's amazing how he's a Head Coach. He just rides Manning.
Me and friend were joking about Caldwell's duties. Honestly he only needs to keep track of how many timeouts they have. And laughing that Peyton was probably super pissed that nobody asked him permission to call timeout on defense.
What does mike tomlin do? He doesn't coach the D and he isn't an offensive guy yet he has a superbowl.
Over the years Manning has had talent on offense. You act like he's been playing with scrubs all of his career. Even this year people made a big deal about the injuries he had and sure he had plenty but he still had his top 2 wr's. Losing Clark was huge. But the comment saying he has taken a lot of teams that had no business near .500 is exaggerating.
Fun games today....minus the Rockets everyday failure. Nice drive to shut up the indy crowd. Awesome how quickly a stadium can become silent. And the Saints out so early! HEY BUD! LET'S PARTY!!!!
This is so true. Some people, especially the media will try to give Manning every break they can. I remember earlier this season people talked about how amazing he was for leading the group he had then they lose a few and he played terrible so all of a sudden it's the other player's faults.
Agreed. The interesting thing is that it [possibly] bailed out Ryan/Schottenheimer for an equally awful call that was lost amid the firestorm of the final minute. Why the hell, on a 3rd and 5 with three minutes to go, would you call a low-percentage, 45-yard bomb? All you need is a first down to all but run out the clock. Your goals should be 1) get a first down and 2) complete the pass, so that even if you're short, the Colts have to burn their final TO. It was basically the identical scenario that cost Virginia Tech against Boise State back in September - zero situational awareness. Obviously the Jets ended up winning anyway, so it was meaningless... but the decision-making of NFL coaches blows me away sometimes.
Woohoo, went 2-0 last night.. seahawks and jets... now time for the balt. and KC game... lets GO RAVENS. 2 favorites will win today.
