NCAA overtimes trump NFL by 50 miles.

Their overtimes are awesome...if the other team scores, you get to come back and try to score them, then if you score, they get an opportunity to score again....regardless of if it's fg or td or points scored on a turnover...even with the worst teams....you still see some great football in overtime.

But as far as overall product...the NFL....always take like the NBA over NCAA...becaue you have the best players in the world all in one league....the talent, especially in professional sports that some many other players from other countries participating...that's another story.

The NCAA probably has more exciting regular seasons...you can't lose to many games...in the NFL you can lose 3 to almost 8 games and still make the playoffs...with 3 losses in college...you probably won't draw decent Bowl game unless you are a big school who had a number of tough opponents out of the year (if you're losing to teams like USC, Florida, Michigan, or Auburn, you usually don't fall far in rankings).

While the NFL playoffs are easily better than NCAA's

    Most exciting regular season
    -----------------------------------
    1. NCAA Football
    2. NFL Football
    3. NCAA Basketball (because they don't play that many games)
4 (tie). MLB Baseball (not really until late August to late September...it's great to watch if team are in back and fowards pennant race or wild card, but it doesn't get serious until late season)
4(tie).NBA Basketball (as much as like the Rockets, or seeing players like Kobe or M.J. breaking scoring records or seeing certain players dominate most games or watching a great team...the NBA regular is kinda boring...and really isn't enjoyable...I'm one of those people actually enjoyed the 98-99 season...because....it was short...only 50 games)
    5. NHL (way too long)

    Most exciting playoffs
    ---------------------------------------
    1. NFL Football - Wildcard games, conference championships, and the Super Bowl....and only twelve teams out of 32 odd teams get make it....that means your chances of making playoffs are only at 37% and this doesn't include the talent and injuries....which means it could be rough for a team doesn't the coaching or talent.

    2. NCAA Tournament - Opening round of 64 teams, Sweet 16, Elite 8, Final Four, and National Championship game.....that's about 4 weeks of some really exciting basketball.

    3. MLB - Most wild card rounds are sleepy (mainly because it starts like the next day) and not really as exciting as the last few games of season for some reason....baseball most exciting games like was it in the past was usually in the LCS or the World Series....are so special to watch especially when you have two juggernauts going at in seven game series....I remember there was time that only division winners went to the playoffs...it can be good or be bad....still I'm glad the wild card was there so if they are 100 win teams in the same division like Atlanta/SF in 93....103 win team that year didn't make playoffs.

    4. NBA Playoffs - Most years are pretty decent....like 01-06, especially in the western conference (with Mavs, Lakers, Suns, Spurs, Rockets, Trailblazers, and Kings) with most being perennial playoff teams, having great players, and winning at least 50 games....but it is dragged down by the play Leastern confernce...especially when there is a few teams hovering near or below .500 that are gonna sneak in there and stink up the joint....the playoffs in 80s and 90s was unbelievable as most probably don't remember it was more exciting at times than NCAA...lesser games in first round (3 and then 5) with much better (and fewer) teams in both conferences. Most of teams at the top where pretty evenly matched as far as stars, borderline stars, role players, coachng, and benches. A team like the Cavs would've never end up in championship from about 80 - 01. I doubt they would've beaten the Bucks team that lost 76ers in 01. Another thing, like I said earlier...the 1st round is way too long shorten to 5 everything is good, nobody wants to waste 4 games especially on the last two or three teams in Eastern Conference.

    5. NCAA Football (Bowl Games) - TO be honest, most bowl games are horrible....especially when a team from the Pac 10, SEC, Big 10, or ACC end up against feather-weight team who is ranked high...another thing is they tend to blow each other out...usually the best post season NCAA football is in conference championship.....i don't know it's like this other sports for some reason, too. I pretty much stop watch college football after conference games are played....and sometimes....you don't necessarily have two or three best teams in the major bowls..like the Sugar, Cotton, or Orange.
