i doubt it's gonna do much good

if TO blew up under Andy Reid, he won't do much better under Shannahan.

Then again, MAYBE DEEZ NUTZ could coach the Broncos.

ESPN is also reporting that the Broncos are interested in trading for Ricky, depending on the Dolphins price.

ESPN is also saying that the Chiefs now might be interested in TO. Manny, you might have caught a break.

I hope so. TO going to the Chefs would make me so happy. That is a disaster just waiting to happen (well TO going to ANY team is a disaster just waiting to happen).

I actually think that KC would be a pretty good fit for TO. Seems like Herm could get the respect from TO that he should have been giving to all his past coaches. Green seems like a pretty thick-skinned veteran QB that could put up with anything.

I'll go ahead and make a prediction about TO, though. I think we've seen the worst. He has to know that the very vast majority of public opinion is against him. He's going to have one more shot, that's it.

Keep in mind that in 2004, he rehabbed his image pretty well too. He went from the selfish idiot he was towards the end of his SF tenure to rehabbing extra hard to play in the Superbowl, etc. He may not last long-term on a team, but if he goes to a good team, they will probably improve pretty noticably on offense for at least one year.

Very true. But I think he was banking on the committment he showed to the team by working his ass off to get back for the Super Bowl would give him a free pass by some. I doubt he expected the near unanimous backlash he's received.

I think he figure his team would feel . . . appreciative
and then he felt they were not.

I think he was wrong on both accounts

I doubt it. There will always be a team naive enough to believe they can change him.

Taking Jerry Rice's job is really what ruined him.

It'd be crazy if the Raiders could somehow sign TO. Imagine TO on one side of the field and Randy Moss on the other side.

Normally, I'd agree with you. But in this case, if he does to another team what he's done to the Eagles, he'll be blackballed, IMO.

It would be fun to watch the soap opera for sure, but those 2 would be fighting after about 2 games about the other getting the ball more. Too much ego on one team. But as much as I hate to say it he probably would fit in otherwise since uncle AL isnt too worried about character issues.

Bringing this back to life because my hero of heroes, John Elway feels like I do (not to mention he also feels the same way as Terrell Davis and Shannon Sharpe). Why Shanahan wants to even consider this is beyond me...

    Elway against T.O. joining Broncos
    ESPN.com news services

While Mike Shanahan continues to entertain the thought of adding wide receiver Terrell Owens to the Denver offense, the greatest Bronco of them all has spoken out against T.O.

"I think there are a lot of things about T.O. that none of us really knows, but obviously he can ruin a football team," Hall of Famer quarterback John Elway told the Denver Post on Friday evening. "If it were up to me I would say no. I think the Broncos are close enough anyway, and they don't need a guy who's too much of a risk.

"The Broncos have a great locker room right now; they have a lot of good leaders in there. To have somebody come in who's worried about himself and not worried about what the team is worried about, I wouldn't do it."

Elway is the latest among former Broncos, including Terrell Davis and Shannon Sharpe, to voice their anti-T.O. sentiment.

Panthers owner Jerry Richardson doesn't even think the subject would reach his ears.

"Well, first off, I don't think they'd [coach John Fox and general manager Marty Hurney] ask," Richardson told the Charlotte Observer.

The Kansas City Chiefs, however, have had some internal discussion about the receiver, but the parties haven't met.

"We haven't heard from his agent at this point in time," Edwards told The Kansas City Star. "I haven't heard from Terrell. If I do have a conversation with Terrell Owens, obviously everyone will know about it, and if it would come to fruition that he was here, then obviously you'd get to talk to him, too. But at this point, he's not here, and I haven't talked to him."

Asked whether the ball is in Owens' court, Edwards told The Star, "We're not calling anybody. We're just kind of sitting."

Owens, who has disparaged his quarterbacks in San Francisco and Philadelphia, is expected to be released in March, when he's due a total of $7.5 million in bonuses.

Well somebody is gonna take either via trade or free agency, we'll just have to see who it is but the Broncos have always been mentioned as the front runner even before all of this.
