This is like when Juwan Howard signed the one of the first 100 million dollar contracts back in the day. I was like wow, he's not that good.
QB's never end up overpaid because of inflation. In a couple of years, Dak will probably be the 7th or 8th highest paid QB in the league and his contract will look just fine. You're probably right that he won't lead them to a Superbowl - given there are 32 teams and only 4 teams maximum will win a Superbowl next year (and Brady or Mahomes are likely get at least 1-2 of those), the odds are not in his favor. Same for Rodgers, Allen, Lamar Jackson, Watson, and everyone else.
The third place team in the AFC East would have been tied with the WFT for best team in the NFC East, record-wise. The division champion WFT, mind you. Buffalo is great. Miami was 10-6. New England is that third place team. The Jets just absolutely suck. The NFC East was definitely the worst division in the NFL, this past season. Not one team reached double digit wins. WFT wasn't even close.
I dunno. I don't know Watt's thinking throughout this entire FA period, but if I was him, I think I'd be willing to take less money to sign with the Bucs instead of being paid big by AZ.
Mariota is getting way too much press for having done nothing. Literally, he's out there in name only and because he scrambled for like 30 yards on a monday night. Everyone likes a redem[tion story, but that doesn't qualify him for a second starting chance just yet. I like the guy, but he's in the bottom 3rd of qb at his best. He plays scared and checks down. There's really no reason for all the Mariota talk.

This is true but there ere also a huge amount of injuries in that division also how do you account for the the Jets being so terrible and the Patriots being about the same as the teams in the NFC east? My point was the AFC east has historically been worse and I think that will continue in the future.
