The Eagles better put up a hell of a season because right now Chip Kelly just looks like a dude fishing for headlines above all else.
A current player ( a Linebacker just like Borland) already committed suicide during the season, he was 25 in his 4th season. His name was Jovan Belcher, he even shot himself, (after killing his girlfriend) at the Chiefs facility, with the owner, GM, coaches, watching him, the chiefs played the next day at Kansas City.
Yeah, I recalled that after I posted this, but I was driving down the highway and forgot to correct myself. I think this is a good point, but would be interesting to see how the reaction would have been had he not murdered his girlfriend before. I think most people just saw it as some sort of lovers quarrel. It would probably have to be a high-profile player, honestly. There are too many players in the NFL who random fans have no idea who they are.
I remember watching that documentary on PBS and the line that struck out the most to me was this: "Do you know what you are doing here?" "No...what?" "If 15% of mothers stop letting their kids play football, you will kill football." I was pretty behind my little brother playing but after everything that's gone on he's now playing soccer. Saw a tweet saying how people are of the belief that middle to upper class parents will now start trending their kids away from football and towards other sports.
Kelly doesn't care. He's doing his thing knowing UT will be there to pay him $7.5/yr when he's done playing in fantasy land.
The part of League Of Denial that chilled me was Troy Aikman speaking with his agent and asking the same thing over and over not knowing where he was. And Tony Dorsett is supposedly really in poor shape these days as well.
It wouldn't shock me to see the NFL pressure their media partners to keep former players off the air once they hit a certain age where the trauma they have endured becomes noticeable in their speech, appearance, or performance on air.

That's cool, just don't drive drunk and get caught.
Yeah but the Raiders already cut Schaub which is basically your kiss of death in the league. If the Raiders don't want you you've basically been demoted to the minors.

Concerns??...They're letting a 30 year old physical RB call the shots.... SMH... Guess they don't realize they have the leverage, he doesn't...
