These 2 sports are what some of lives depend on. I think you combine these lockouts with the horrible economy and we have a recipe disaster. 2012 is very real folks this is a disaster that might be everlasting.

Ah yes, athletes and owners demanding a bigger share of the money and threatening not to have a season if they don't get their way. It must be a sign of the apocalypse.... or business as usual.
Absolutely...but my life in no way depends on either one. I'll be just as happy watching college football and basketball. The only lives depending on these leagues getting back to work are the employees of the leagues, teams, and stadiums.
Oh well, time to bandwagon my hockey team again I guess, plus there's the World Series I can watch, Halladay is going to get his world championship.
Obama needs to step in and pimp slap these owners and players. Still have hope that the NFL will resume shortly, not so sure about the nba.
I can handle it but I don't know if others can. These 2 major sports provide a testosterone release for pent up individuals. I think not only does the economy they bring suffer but could potentially make life in America much more dangerous than it already is in some places.
I don't think you realize how insignificant the lockout is for people outside America. Most of the world is poor and doesn't care about the NBA/NFL.
Without our bread and circuses we might have to focus our attention on more important things. Like Sheen and Lohan's drug addictions. Why oh why can't they clean up?
While I have little interest in billionaires arguing with millionaires over $, these lockouts are pretty bad for folks that work in related industry - think stadium workers, travel industry, marketing firms, restaurants/bars near arenas - which is the only reason I really care....Think USATODAY or someone had an article about how it affects all the little people
These athletes weren't creating wealth, they were merely redistributing it. The 'little people' will find that with the shift in fan spending from NFL/NBA to other venues, so will their opportunties to work.
