Anyone else getting agitated that this is going to be the third week in a row that there will be one game other than the Texans game televised? Up until Week 6, there were routinely two 3pm games after the Texans were televised at Noon. What is the deal? And to top it off, we get to watch Dallas-Tampa Bay. I'd much rather watch NY Giants-Pittsburgh. Oh, and it seems there is no Sunday Night Football game this weekend either. Looks like I'm gonna have to switch over to DirecTV next season because we are definitely getting screwed here.
From Wikipedia: During the first sixteen weeks of the schedule, both FOX and CBS are given eight double-headers apiece. The two networks alternate double-headers, but not necessarily week-in and week-out. For example, in early October, CBS typically airs two or three consecutive double-header weekends, while FOX opts for single-headers those weeks due to their concurrent coverage of the Baseball playoffs. Due to CBS's annual coverage of the U.S. Open, FOX has usually had exclusive double-header coverage of opening weekend since 1998. Starting in 2006, both networks air a double-header in week 17. NBC also has broadcast rights to the opening Thursday Night game, which replaces a game taken away when the league omits a Sunday night game during the weekend of the World Series (starting in 2007, the one weekend where Games 3-5 are held).
It's cause the Texans are playing at home at 3PM. FOX can't air a game during that time. (unless FOX is airing the game, then CBS will not.) DirectTV can't help you with the World Series thing. That's an MLB thing.
Actually, the World Series has nothing to do with it tommorow.... Fox has the double-header despite showing game 4 tommorow night as well. And, as said above, Fox can't show a game opposite the Texans home game (which is at 3pm). If the game was at noon tommorow (like it should have been), we would get the NYG-Pittsburgh game.
He was talking about the NBC Sunday Night Game. I guess he wanted to watch 9 hours of football instead of six hours of football. (which I dont blame him)
