Can you imagine if the Texans passed on Kolb and Jerry Jones traded up to draft him? It would be a total catastrophe for the franchise! I would totally write a ****ty song about it and send it to the 610 morning show

I think you're just jealous of Kolb's cannon arm and long, flowing mullet. Well, he cut the mullet, but at least we know he has the capability to grow one!

I would not leave out D Jarrett.

Kenny Irons is a hell of player.

Ginn and Breaston look like they have excellent pro speed, not just excellent college speed. probably too small for top 10 type WR picks however.

The ND boys appear overrated to me.

Brohm I have not seen enough to have a strong opinion yet.

Lynch has good size, an excellent average (suspect good speed), and catches the ball too--would seem a prototype pro, but I need to see him more in person to judge how special he is.-

Slaton is ultra quick and blazing fast, but too small right now and only a soph.

For defenders I'll need more time. I do like Landry of LSU. But safeties don't go top 5. I havn't seen a DL or LB overwhelmingly impressive, but I am sure they are out there.

Patrick Willis of Ole Miss looks like a good LB, as well as Posluzkny from Penn St. Quentin Moses looks like a great DE at Georgia, but I can't see the Texans taking a DE with their first pick again.

The plus side is that we've got a lot more CFB and NFL games to watch to see who we need/want to draft.

Didn't impress me personally. He didn't look too fast, special, or overall much of a factor in the ND game. Maybe I'll get a 2nd look this weekend.

I think Jarrett is the best WR in college football, I like him better than Johnson. Not a knock on Calvin, but Jarrett has really impressed him everytime I've seen him play and I really like what he can bring.

With that said, I think the Texans have much bigger needs to fill than at WR. But maybe its just time to go with the BPA.

Posluszny is the only LB that is projected to go high in the draft. Like you, he has impressed me all that much but it's still early.

As for DL, the 2 big names are Pitcock and Okam, both will probably be too much of a reach for where we will most likely be picking (but its still early). Pitcock is probably a bit more polished but Okam is an absolute beast.

Those USC WR's are never overrated.

The guy is coming off a serious knee injury. Partial ACL tear I believe. Would have been a 1st rounder last year as a junior. Lets see if he brings it to Ohio St.

Kolb is a special one of a kind talent. That's why he plays at Coogar high.

    Cougar Hand Sign
In Texas, all of the major universities have adopted a hand sign which signifies to all other Texans where your loyalties lie. The Cougar Hand Sign is no different. Although the original hand sign was the "V" for Victory until 1965, events conspired and a new hand sign was adopted. The inaugural football game between University of Houston and University of Texas during the 1953 campaign witnessed the birth of a blood rivalry between the state's two largest universities at that time. However, it also led to the adoption of another Cougar Hand Sign. During her transport from Houston to Austin, one of the fingers on Shasta's paw was severed when the cage door was closed. As the University of Texas partisans and players caught wind of the accident, they mimicked the animal by bending their thumb over the ring finger against their palm. This gesture implied that the Cougars were invalids. The Cougars would go on to lose the game 28-7.

The cougar faithful, still mindful of the stinging defeat suffered 15 years earlier, never forgot the taunting that they received. The next time the two teams faced off (1968... a whole 15 years later), UH tied UT 20-20. At that point, the students thought there might be a bit of magic in that sign, and the hand sign was adopted replacing the "V".

In 1976, the Cougars first football season in the Southwest Conference, the Coogs & Horns met for the third time ever. The Coogs put a beating on the Longhorns that they have yet to forget 30-0 (a.k.a.the "Dad's Day Massacre") in front of the largest crowd to assemble in Memorial Stadium at that time. That victory ended the Longhorns famed winning streak, and the embarrassment also signaled the end of legendary UT Coach Darryl K. Royal's career. After that victory, the Cougar Hand Sign became firmly entrenched.

Throw Leonard Davis a huge contract. Sign John Lynch away from Denver. And get the best DB available. Maybe even consider a trade down for an extra third rounder if we can still get the best DB available.

I'd love to have Adrian but I can't see us drafting a RB high in the first round. Denver never takes backs high. Look who all they've passed on through the years.

I absolutely agree, but to be fair, the Broncos also haven't picked high in the first round for a very long time.

The biggest indicator of how much they value RB's is that they traded Portis for defense. Obviously Champ is one of the best DBs in the NFL but Portis ran for over 3000 yards his first 2 seasons, those are unbelievable numbers.

When you look at what Bell, Dayne, and Anderson did the past 2 seasons under the zone-blocking scheme, they just need a back that will make 1 cut and run up field.

I think last night proved that Kolb is the man for the Texans. Hell, I've already preordered a Texans jersey with his name on the back!

I would bet RB is a low priority next draft. Our defense is worse than our offense. We need a starting CB and a safety along with another backer. And on offense, we need more offensive line help than any other position. I would bet it is a draft where we trade for more picks and draft a bunch of grunts with one or two high profile DBs.

i'm tired of the texans pretending they're denver. right now, you take the very best guy on the board....because you have need freaking everywhere. if that's a RB, so be it.

at some point you have to do something to energize your fan base.
