I'd like to take you up on that offer...my odds are: 100 billion to 1....I will put my penny on the line, but if they draft a Safety in top five I want my $1,000,000,000 dollars.
Denver does not like to spend high draft picks on OL or RB. Depending on who they pickup during free agency I see the Texans going after CB, LB, or QB depending on what Carr does.
ok, but you must pay shipping & handling on the penny. Actually I will pay you jsut to keep the penny because I generally hate having them around. A quarter, now that I could at least use for the laundry machine.
If there is a high value offensive lineman or running back available, denver or not, I don't see how the Texans can afford to pass him up and alienate fans even further, after last year's fiasco. Plus just because Denver hasn't had a chance to draft highly ranked OL and RBs very much doesn't mean they wouldn't if they had the chance.
Didn't the Ravens (2001) and the Bucs (2003) win the Super Bowl with great defenses and average offenses? I would be hard pressed to name one team that won the Super Bowl with an average defense. Maybe the Rams in 2000? The current Texan defense is below average. Maybe they can pick it up as the year goes on?
Yes, he runs like a gazelle almost effortlessly. Saw Ian Johnson from Boise State a few weeks back I think they played Oregon State. Man, he was ridiculous. Like over 10 yds per carry. So, maybe he merits consideration but maybe too much similar to Gado if ultimately we're going to keep Sammo. I ultimately think we need to go after a stud to anchor our O-Line. Protect your investments. Something Capers & Co. never did just offered excuses and second-hand alternatives which produced less than favorable results.
that's what i keep telling people. just the fact that he goes to UH should be enough for the Texans to pick him. i'm with you. passing on Kolb means I'll be a fan of whatever team drafts him and i hope he kills the Texans.
It won't be him, but that would be nice in the later rounds...AP would be a great addition, but you know we the Texans will mess it up somehow...
He doesn't. Texans fans that despise UTexas and/or Vince Young are using Kolb as an example of why it was ludicrous for Young fans to mention his Houston roots as a factor in possibly drafting him. Such a weak and idiotic analogy is all that can be expected of those who have ties to an institution like UHouston.
I think the Texans should draft Phillip Daugherty from Sam Houston State. If they don't, I will never root for them again and I will only root for the team that drafts him. If no one drafts him, I will never watch the NFL again. I will also murder Bob McNair. I HATE THE TEXANS 4-EVER!!!!!!!!!!11111 Daugherty>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Carr
Jeff Samardzija is overated. I think Texans will draft an a outside linebacker or cornerback. O-Line could be option but Kubiak is really high on Spencer and Winston even though Spencer out for the year. Top linebackers are Paul Poslusnzny of Penn State, Brain Smith of Missouri, and Earl Everett of Florida. Top cornerbacks are Leon Hall of Michigan, Fred Bennett of South Carolina, and Marcus McCauley of Fresno State.
Actually it's hilarious and clever. You, however, obviously don't know how to handle an obvious sarcastic joke. Lighten up, GO KOLB!!! (and yeah, it IS pretty weak to mention hometown roots as a basis for drafting somebody.. even for a total all-world stud like Kolb)
I think its going to depend largely on supply and demand. http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=117154&page=2 As I said in that thread, there's going to be about 7-8 teams considering QBs as part of their first day draft choices (first 3 rounds)... so its going to come down to whether the analysts feel this is a deep QB draft or not. It really depends on how guys like Quinn, Smith, Leak, Stanton, Brohm, Kolb, Palko, and White perform this season. A deep QB draft might push Kolb to day 2, a shallow QB draft might bump him up a few notches if he keeps performing at his current clip. Right now I expect 2nd round at best, 3rd round probably, and 4th round a definite possibility. He's doing his business mostly under the radar, so I don't expect a lot of draft hype.. unless the coogs beat a big name (Miami, or a Liberty Bowl foe from the SEC) or notch 10-wins.
