Baltimore @ Indy I want Baltimore to win, not because I like the Ravens, but... if they win, their draft position worsens, right? So, lets go Ravens! But, I'm not expecting them to win though; Peyton will eat their secondary against the blitz or in coverage... of course, I was thinking the same thing for Brady. That Flacco is so goooood. NY Jets @ SD The Sanchize will not reproduce that statline. Sure, the Jets should be able to shut down Jackson and the run game, but Rivers should be able to survive with check downs to the rbs and gates. I kind of like the Jets, so again... hope I'm wrong. Arizona @ NOLA I just have a hard time picking against the Cards in the playoffs after last season, and I haven't been too impressed with New Orleans this year. I'll probably pick against either winner for next week though. And yes, Brees will be able to do anything he wants. Dallas @ Minnesota I literally flipped a coin. In my hater fashion, I made Dallas Tails. Unfortunately, tails won. I don't know which Farve* will show up or which Romo for that matter. I like AD, neutral/dislike/hate everyone else in both franchices. A true battle of coaching giants! *Dwayne Wade!
I'm absolutely terrified to make any picks after how off I was in the Wild Card games. Things I will say: 1) I wouldn't be surprised to see NO's luck run out. 2) Favre has been money in domes and/or warm weather 3) The Chargers could beat anybody out there 4) Indy has been in positions like this before where they rest, gag then blame the time off. Not saying I necessary think Baltimore will win but they remind me a lot of the 2005 Steelers team that knocked the Colts out in a game where they seemingly had no chance.
all 4 home teams colts, chargers, saints, vikings I was gonna take the Ravens to upset the Chargers if that was the matchup. But I thought they'd lose to the Colts in the AFC championship. With it the other way around, I see no upsets..
Colts Chargers Cardinals Vikings Actually, I don't think the Cardinals will win, but I'm rooting for 'em to win it all.
I'm not even sure if its mathematically possible to score any more points against the Saints than what the Cards scored on the Packers. Of course the other question you have to ask is since the Saints offense is even more dangerous than the Packers offense, how are the Cardinals going to contain them any more than they did Green Bay? Should be another shootout that will be totally up for grabs. I'm going with the Saints simply because they are less likely to have a poor showing than the Cardinals, who have looked awful at certain times throughout the year. Saints have been pretty consistent. Also Cardinals won't benefit from any home cooking that assisted them in their win against the Packers. Colts Cowboys Chargers Saints
Good points. The fun thing about the playoffs this year is that you could really make a pretty strong case for every single team. Which means that predictions become nothing but crap shoots, but it also means that we could be in for some really good exciting games. I can't remember the last time that we had 8 teams left in the playoffs and no real clear-cut favorite in either conference. The AFC is probably a little more slanted towards Indy and San Diego, but the NFC, I honestly would not be terribly surprised by any of the 4 teams making it to the Super Bowl.
Baltimore @ Indy - Raven's offense will be the weak link NY Jets @ SD - Chargers' offense will exploit the Jets defensive gambles Arizona @ NOLA - Another high scoring affair, picking the team with the better defense Dallas @ Minnesota - Cowboys roll All of these games may be very close.
The Saints gave up more points and yards per game this year than the Cardinals. http://www.nfl.com/stats/categoryst...sonType=REG&tabSeq=2&qualified=true&Submit=Go
Fixed it. You should no longer be confused. I had thought NOLA was a top 10 defense and yet they appear to be #25 in yards per game. I remember earlier in the year all of the discussions wrt the Saints hiring Gregg Williams and getting their D fixed, and why the Texans could not do the same.
no team not named the Giants has scored more than 23 points on the cowboys defense, and they've given up only 14 points in their last three games. you really think Favre will hang 38 on this defense?
Just off the top of my head guessing whats going to be the shootout of the day. I didn't sit there for an hour pondering the final score. I don't see the Cowboys taking down the Vikings.
