Did Luckett really make that holding call on the INT return? What's that idiot have to do to get fired from the NFL? Christ!!
The Chargers are playing the Colts freaking tough. Nice screen pass for the TD and they would be up even more if it weren't for that horrible holding call.
are we really going to have to watch the patriots manhandle the chargers next week? not only is indy/ne the best rivalry going and not only would it be hugely hyped, but it might be the only chance for NE to lose (which they won't). chargers won't know what to do. how does tom brady get a pass tipped 30 feet in the air against baltimore with their perfect season on the line and not one raven even sees it, but peyton manning's running back tips an easy catch 2 feet in the air, and it goes straight to an LB, who is being blocked, who then makes a one-handed catch at the 2 yard line? and the colts blew the FG drive before the half. dammit, at least make NE have to work for this.
It is clear to me now that Indy is way overrated and deserves to lose this game without any further help from refs. Tomlinson is out, Gates has a broken toe, Rivers has a messed up leg and yet the Chargers are still ahead in the game. Don't tell me the Colts have any shot at the Patriots if they keep playing like this . Props to Chargers for hanging in there and playing there hearts out.
I hate hate hate the Colts but I'd really like to see Colts\Patriots next week What a HORRIBLE freaking PI call!!!!
Thats the 2nd, and possibly 3rd phantom call against the Chargers today. Norv Turner is about to kill an official.
how do you not down that punt? the guy caught it, took 2 steps, and then took 2 that both touched the goalline? how is it that you go about 3 yards before deciding it might be a good idea to pitch it back? and his teammate wasn't any better as he caught the pitch and stepped on the goalline, too. i don't see how nfl special teamers can be that unaware of where they are and how to down the ball.
the colts D finally manages to step up. they only needed gates, tomlinson, and rivers all out simultaneously to do it.
If you want the Pats to lose next week, you want the Colts to win today. They would have about a 10% chance of winning vs <1% for the Chargers.
I'm not really a conspiracy theory kind of guy, but it seems to me that the refs are doing everything they can to ensure a Pats-Colts game next week.
The Chargers really do deserve to win this game. They have played a hell of a game without their stars and are only down by 3. Rivers has impressed me today, and I am not a fan of Rivers. And now there driving with Volek throwing a screen pass to #40, a fifth round pick out of Boise State.
i thought the colts were supposed to have a good defense? they are playing horrendously today. the domination up front is amazing and they are covering no one. with billy volek at qb! can manning get a defense? or a rb that doesn't tip catchable passes to the other team for INT's? chargers lead, manning about to throw a pick and end it. bolts/pats next week, NE by about 24.
The Chargers All-Second String team is giving the mighty Colts a run for their money. You'd think with so many players out on San Diego's side that the Colts would run up the score easily and put this game away a long time ago. No matter how this game ends, the Chargers have earned my respect as a tough nosed team with some pride to keep fighting when they could have easily packed up and called it a day.
great decisions manning. 2nd and 5 and you throw 2 deep balls to the endzone. one on a play were you had all day to throw and probably could've walked to a 1st down. plus you didn't wanna score with 3 minutes left anyway. dumb calls.
4th and 5. This may be the game right here. BTW, this game SHOULD be 35-24 Chargers. Stupid ref and his stupid holding penalty on the Cromartie INT. EDIT: Converted.
i think someone said the hold on the INT return wasn't the one they showed the replay of but someone grabbed anthony gonzalez pretty obviously at the beginning of the return.
