    Rivers is garbage.

anyway, On the topic of beating the Patriots... I'm just not sure it can be done honestly. When they acquired Moss, Welker, and Stallworth they weren't ****ing around after watching Reche Caldwell drop critical passes last season. I have concluded it must be their blocking schemes, because I've seen Jacksonville and the Giants shred through even pretty good offensive lines. How can you bring 8 men in the box when they go to 4 and 5 receiver sets? You can't. You have to respect the deep pass and give them the short routes and hope you can stop them on at least one series. Brady has time to throw when he needs it. Jacksonville completely took away the deep pass, but the Patsies were ready for it and effectively used Maroney on stretch plays and screens to get the big yardage, along with the WCO style passing. Honestly I thought Jacksonville needed to score on every possession to win this game, and when Garrard fumbled the ball early on, I knew it wasn't going to go well for them.

the pats defense seems vulnerable, Indianapolis could probably keep up with them scoring.

You are probably right. But unless you have a great pair of bookend defensive lineman, you need to bring a 5th or sometimes a 6th player to keep things unpredictable and generate real pressure to make Brady rush or go down.

That first drive was a testament to Manning. Brady might be a better overall QB, but Manning has the best pocket sense of any QB in history.

The Jags offense did play poor in the second half. 6 points is not going to cut it. Couple receivers had TDs in their hands and dropped it and Gerrad wasn't quite as crisp either. The Jags chance was to outscore them--the offense didn't do the job in the second half--so they were in part at fault.

I also don't agree with the 4 man front against the Pats, maybe, maybe if you have a dline like the Giants (though they don't have the secondary). But the Jags dline in yesterday's state wasn't near formidable.

Overall you have to pressure Brady at all costs (erorr on pass blitzing than not though you don't want to be totally predictable) and I would also always have 5 coming at him. Preferrably bring the 5 from different directions/disguising. If your front can't beat and confuse the NE front, you are not going to stop them (like yesterday). Then your only chance is to score everytime (match-up offensively) and hope they make 1 one mistake or you have the ball last. Indy, Dallas, & GB present more problems to them than Jville does--possibly the Giants or Bolts do too (though I expect both to lose).

I knew their kicker would miss.

I went into the kitchen and I come back to see Bob Sanders pat him on the head.

Of all the teams left in the playoffs, the Colts are the only one with are real chance of beating the Patriots. Everyone else including the Giants, Packers and Cowboys are no match for New England. Yeah the Giants gave them a good game a few weeks ago but they are still too inconsistent to play a shutout contest with Tom Brady.

I find it funny that people still think New England will lose when in fact they have beaten 4 of the 5 remaining teams in the playoffs, won against Indy, Dallas, San Diego and NYG.

What hold. The only thing close, the guy was blocking on the Colts guy who fell down while pushing him away.....And I didnt see a flag thrown at that.

Sick return by Cromartie but too bad refs call ticky tacky holding penalty. This guy is a dangerous runner who understand how to make cuts and angle himself on the field.

    Story of Peyton Manning's career.

Anyone who wonders why I hate the Colts so much... watch that runback and that "hold." That really should say it all. The Colts absolutely have a shot against the Patriots, for the same reason they kept the game close in November. Hint: it has nothing to do with the players on the field.

Total BS holding call! Cro should have 7 and the Chargers should be up by 4 and getting the ball in the next half. Guess that's part of home field advantage, but I'm getting sick of the phantom calls we've seen lately in big games (especially the end of the college season).

Also, I agree with moes -- Rivers is garbage.

As much as I'd like them to win, and officiating gripes aside, I can't see it happening. The Chargers just aren't getting the pass rush they needed to get to have a great shot. Indy will score its points, and the Chargers will have to keep up... and I can't see Rivers making enough plays to do it.

    Really hope I'm wrong.

Colts are giving this game away with 2 picks inside the red zone. If you can't catch the hot potato then make you make sure nobody else can.
